I haven't updated in a bit. But I did it! 30 Whole Days! Feeling great. Lost about 8 pounds to boot.
I reintroduced a little dairy and much to my disappointment, experienced a great deal of gastric distress. First, it was a little milk in coffee, that left me gurgling. The next day, it was three small mozzarella balls, that left me doubled over in pain by the end of the day.
I am going to get back on plan and wait a few days before introducing any other foods. I am not ready for gluten, but contemplating brown rice or quinoa next. I have to read mrs on the reintroduction protocol.
Hope everyone else is doing well also! Thanks for all the support!

Hi, I'm Rebecca, from NJ. I am committing to a whole 30 for health reasons. I have diabetes, high cholesterol and am over weight. I also have a serious sugar addiction. I want to be healthy and have a healthy relationship with food. I have previously attempted a W30 before, but have not gotten past 2 weeks. This time will be different!
The biggest challenges I foresee are meal planning, prepping and cleaning, as well as sugar cravings and dairy. And dealing with a 7 year old who will not eat most foods. Yesterday, I wrote my goals for the month, per the worksheet in the email.
To get ahead of the curve, I am cooking a ton today, roasting veggies, chicken in the crock pot, hard boiling eggs, making mayo and ketchup, clarifying butter and making fresh coconut milk.
Here's to making today a success!

Day 19! This is the longest I have ever succeeded on a W30! I feel great and I still haven't stepped on the scale. Lots of NonScale victories though! I started the W30 borderline obese, as in my home scale had me at the highest BMI in overweight and my doctors scale had me at the lowest BMI of obese. Clearly I have a lot of weight to lose! Over the past few days, I have noticed my back fat rolls arent touching each other any more, my belly button isn't as deep and my double chin is just a half double chin. I also bumped into a guy friend who said my skin is radiant. Yay for compliments. I also have more energy and less stress, even though my job is at its peak of stressful ness. Loving the lifestyle, need to plan for Thanksgiving still.

I have six kids and was nursing a 3 at one point. Here are my thoughts...
You need an additional 500-700 calories above your normal daily intake for milk production. Increasing your calories is key.
Hydration and sleep are both very important.
Make sure you are taking a good multivitamin or at least folate, b complex, calcium, magnesium, and trace minerals.
    Some other things to try:
Certain foods can cause gassiness like cabbage, sometimes kale, brusselsprouts, etc. you could experiment with substituting other veggies if those are a daily part of your diet.
Also, you should be eating 100-150 grams or more of carbs if you are nursing. If your carbs are too low, you could be giving off ketones which can impact the taste of your milk and be off putting to your baby. You supply may be tanking because your baby isn't eating as much because of the taste, and your body is responding to the reduced demand.
Try applying fennel oil directly to your milk ducts to stimulate production.
You can also try Motilium,an anti-constipation OTC med that increases milk supply for some women.
Hang in there and Keep us posted!

Day 12, feeling like I really turned a corner mentally and physically. Plus today I am wearing jeans that are normally uncomfortably tight and are just snug instead. Happy!

Day 9 is coming to a close and it has been a rough one, but I stayed the course. I have a headache and my child is annoying. And I am so sick of doing dishes! I don't mind cooking, it's the cleaning I can't stand. I have cooked almost every meal, it's the exception of two salads and some chicken soup. Normally, we get take out 1-2 nights and I grab lunch on the go almost every day. Guess we will be saving money!
I'm hoping tiger blood is around the corner! For a boost, I rewatched the video from the day 1 email.
