Good morning Team November! I just want to post to say - I SLEPT SO WELL LAST NIGHT. I have chronic, incessant insomnia, but last night I slept from 11 PM straight through to 6 AM - no sleeping pills, no alcohol, nothing! It was brilliant & I feel like a million bucks this morning.

My partner is making coffee & cooking omelettes for breakfast & then we're going hiking with our guest. I've packed a trail lunch for all three of us. It's going to be a fantastic day!

OK! Day 3, and the Achey-Headachey-Crankies are here. I want to bite someone, and then take a nap. Is homo-sapian tartar Whole 30 approved?

    Hi again,
Also wondering if anyone has strategy suggestions for dealing with after dinner snack attacks. I find the habit hard to break and currently  still doing it, even tho the foods I'm choosing are OK. I would like to stop. Do the habitual cravings settle down on their own? Or do any of you have tricks?

Catr9 got a reaction from EAH in Roll call: November Whole30s!
Hi I'm Cat from the SF Bay Area and in my 50's. This is my first Whole 30 and it's Day1.

I lost 80 lbs with Weight Watchers in 2011-2013, but hit a wall about 30 lb short of my goal and have gained back and been fighting with the same 10 lb for over a year. I've been wanting to start a strength training program but lack the motivational spark.

So here I am, stepping up my game in a big way.

I'm no stranger to radically shifting the way I eat to improve my health, but have not found that the programs that I have tried in the past were sustainable, even when the benefits were profound. I'm hopeful here! Whole 9 living does seem doable over the long haul and the Whole 30 to jump start it all seems like great support.

My biggest fear is the detox phase. I hope it's not too bad!

I recently subbed 3/4 cup beef bone broth and 1/4 cup unsweetened grape juice for 1 cup of wine (in a sauce for a BIG pot of meatballs). It was.... close, although missing some of the bite of wine. Next time I might mix in a bit of an approved vinegar to get some acid in there.
