    TMI Potty Question....

How does everyone go with 'consistency' of your #2? TMI I know, but things seem a lot 'looser' than normal??

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Hey peeps!! Well, I finished my whole30 on Sunday, but just kept going, I'm feeling good so why not? I ended up losing exactly 5kg (11lbs), thought it might have been more, but slow steady weight loss and an amazing feeling is so much more important to me at this stage! I don't notice my clothes fitting much different really, and silly me forgot to do measurements before starting. I had some awesome news thismorning, one of the biggest reasons I started whole30 was to get my cholesterol down, and in just 30 days I have managed to bring it down heaps! Still a little above where it needs to be, but it is lower than it was even 2 years ago, and well below where it was in September. My Dr was so impressed, he thought I had seen a nutritionist (which another Dr had referred me to), however I said it was Paleo pretty much and he was so excited. Turns out he is really into eating this way, and even gave me some names of authors and book titles to check out. I think this is going to be my new regular Dr!! I did accidentally have a bite of bread lastnight... was at a BBQ with sausages on bread and just took a bite without thinking... nearly spat it out! Swallowed that one down, then just had the sausage without the bread I'm so excited by everyone who is keeping on going, I feel like I've made some huge improvements in the last month, and am very excited. I've got a Christmas party at work tonight which I was thinking I would drink at, but I just don't know if it is worth it - this is huge for me....! Keep on track everyone, it is so worth it!

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Wow, so I haven't logged in for a while, been busy cooking and sticking with the plan. I'm so sorry to hear about the the people who have had to drop out, hopefully you can get back to it or find what works best for you!! Last weekend was where I knew I would have some issues, going away for the weekend, luckily I was able to make a lot of our meals still, and chose really well while out, heaps of seafood and salads! Everyone in the family has been suffering from a gastro bug, and while I thought I was getting it, it all seemed to pass really quickly without any real symptoms, I'm thinking the lack of grains/sugar/dairy may have just starved the bugs off in me.... Hope those of you in the USA had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and managed to stay compliant. I can't believe I only have 2 days left... well 4 actually because I'm staying the plan till Wednesday when I get some blood tests done and see how I am really tracking before I think about re-introducing anything else Keep going if you can, I'm feeling really great, don't think I've seen any weight loss, but the feeling I have and energy is a great start!

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Well it's Day 13 for me in Oz, and wow, we are forecast to have a heatwave and I'm reading about all you Americans in the snow!! Very warm here which is great for eating cold salads and leftover meats, but I'm not really interested in some soups and hot meals at the moment that I'd love to be cooking. I'm having some success with the kids which is great, they have decided they want to start trying different things, and my 7yo says his tastebuds are changing! They have now decided that they finally like onion! If I can convince 7yo to try something then 5yo will just follow suit. Have had my hubby away this week for work so it has been great that they are not giving me too much grief about the food! So not sure about anyone else, but my toothpaste is starting to taste super sweet! It's one for sensitive teeth and usually tastes horrible, but now it just tastes like a mouthful of sugar and it's not even like I'm eating it, just brushing my teeth!! lol I'm starting to struggle a little with my food choices, feeling like I need more crunch, so I read on here someones suggestion of sweet potato chips cooked in coconut oil. We had that with dinner last night and it was lovely, had the kids fighting over the crunchiest bits too!! Anyone else got some more suggestions for crunchy foods to add? I used to have crunchy noodles in salads, crackers things like that I'm missing....

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Most of the way through day 7 and this is probably the best I have felt physically and emotionally all week! I have been struggling to sleep this week and the 2 kids (5 & 7) keep coming in for a cuddle during the night. They are all over me during the day too and I feel a bit like I just don't want to be touched by anyone! Had a bit of a meltdown lastnight and hubby kept the kids away from me during the night if they came in he handled them and even let me sleep in thismorning, how different I felt today! I've stayed compliant, but I have realised that I do a lot more snacking on the kids food than I realised! Every time I am preparing or cleaning up something for them I have to really stop myself from having some, strange how I have been able to identify something that may have been contributing to weight gain the past couple of years. Loving some of the recipes being posted, and I've shopped again this week and have more yummy plans for the weeks meals.....

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

So I have been in a bit of pain today, had some terrible leg cramps lastnight and foot this morning, something I haven't had for years. Went for a swim today and that has helped to loosen things up a bit, but I was wondering if this was associated with the Whole30?? I did a little search and have found that yes a lot of other people have also suffered from this when starting whole30!! I'll be checking which foods might be able to help my magnesium and potassium levels and hopefully that will the the last of that! Hope no-one else is suffering from this too, if you've got other suggestions, let me know. Other than that and being a little tired and grumpy I appear to have survived day 5 - woo hoo!!

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Well Day 4 is coming to a close here in Australia and so far I haven't actually punched anyone in the face, however I was quite stroppy with the hubby and kids tonight... helping my 7yo with his homework when he has no attention span whatsoever is not fun after a long day at work then cooking dinner! Cravings wise today has been the worst too, with Melbourne Cup on here and all the lunch things going on in the office, I was glad I had taken a lovely lunch along with me and just tried to ignore the festivities! I was also training a girl at work who loved sweets and chocolate so snacked constantly and the smell was driving me insane..... oh dear. Time for a nice herbal tea and off to bed - after I put some breakfast chilli in the slow cooker Hopefully hubby will be able to finish off with some poached eggs for breakfast and let me have a sleep in, fingers crossed! Hope you are all going well too, my sinuses are still loving this, I so want to jump on the scales though, just feel slimmer through the waist or something?!

    Roll call: November Whole30s!

Hi everyone! Yet another Aussie here I started on November 1st and just finishing up my second day. Feeling great so far, and don't know if it's related but my sinuses have totally cleared like I can't remember when?! Hubby is along for the ride with me, but can't give up his cappuccinos.... The kids aren't overly impressed by the whole situation, even though I'm giving them lots of leeway, I've changed things for them and had a big talk about how important it is for us to change as a family (they are 5 and 7). I've spent my Sunday arvo prepping more meals for the week, and am surprised by how much we have gone through already - we are very used to eating out so this will be a change for us! I'm hoping my prep will make the next couple of days at work easier, before I do more prep on Wednesday - day off. Everyone seems really awesome, and I think with all the support I'll be through my 30 days in no time!! We have a weekend away at our favourite resort around the 20th which I am anticipating will be a difficult time for me to make the right decisions, they have the BEST buffet breakfast included and I'm just going to have to bypass most of it and spend some time with the egg chef I think! Hope there is some regular updates from everyone!!
