Guys, I'm out. I am sorry.
This week has been stressful - my supervisor called me & told me, point blank, that I ought to be looking for another job. My partner has been hating the Whole30 from start to finish - with constipation, bloating, & general GI distress.
So tonight we went completely off-plan.
We will try again in 2015.
    Good luck to everyone else!

Day 13 here. Feeling pretty good, although the rash around my chin is getting much much worse and starting to spread. I assumed it would go away on W30. I think it is related to an allergy. So I am cutting out avocado and trying my best to avoid nuts, peppers and all Nightshades. I saw a post by a woman who has the exact same rash I do and she said it is from nightshade allergy. I really don't like the idea of eliminating even MORE foods ..l but if my body is rejecting something I should listen. I am committed to this because I am seriously desperate for pain relief. It never occurred to me that some of my problems could be due to allergies.
Have any of you been to an allergist to identify foods you should avoid? Did the skin testing reveal anything worthwhile? Have you improved since withdrawing those foods?

I'm have some STUPENDOUS and INCREDIBLE news:
I DO NOT HAVE A HEADACHE TODAY!!!
For me this is astounding. I have not been headache-free for YEARS. I have been told by more than one headache specialist that I am "the worst of the worst, hardest to treat, etc" and that my only hope was to travel to Michigan for inpatient treatment at the National Head Pain Center (which is not covered by most insurance and costs at least $60,000).
Let me say again that this is MONUMENTAL for me.
I am not sure, but I think it may also be due to the fact that I tried Natural Calm for the first time last night. I took a little less than 1/4 tsp. I have been suffering with GI distress today, which is very unpleasant, but the other result of head pain relief has overshadowed it.
Now to find a form of magnesium and a proper dosage that will allow me to continue to derive this incredible, blessed relief without suffering in other areas.

Hi all my name is Leonie, a melbourne Aussie , embarking on a quest for healthy living.

I'm new to the 30 and totally new to forums! Today is the day that I start my whole 30 I need a major deep clean and realise that going it alone is insane!!!

it's way too easy to fall back into old habits and then suffer for it for days afterwards only to do it again- massive insanity   This is my time to whole (pardon the pun lol)heartedly commit to my health.

I've been 80/20 paleo for some time and always feel so good when  don't do the 20- I love those 2 books "well fed" and "well fed 2" and use them all the time
rogan josh and chocolate chilli are regular favourites.

    Happy journeys

Seasoned pork steaks, sauteed green beans with sunflower seeds added to roast in the pan (YUM!), and seasoned oven fries for day 6 dinner tonight.  Quite possibly one of the best meals we have had so far.  I have been thinking why this hasn't been harder and worrying that I am doing something wrong without knowing it, but I think that it helped that we never ate really horrible to begin with and I am lucky to not have any major illnesses or ailments.  I just want to feel healthier.  And I am finding that forcing myself to find new recipes and try new foods is reigniting my love of cooking!  I sometimes do not feel like looking through recipes for ideas, but when I find something that looks good, and turns out when I make it, and my husband raves about, it makes me feel even better than the healthy food we are eating.  I already find that I have more energy.  When my boys wake up in the morning it doesn't take me an extra 1-2 hours to roll out of bed finally after turning cartoons on for the oldest.  I am amazed at how good I feel when I wake up, even though I am still getting broken sleep because of waking to feed the baby in the night!

Day 8 sort of done, working the graveyard shift so I have 12 more hours of temptation to get through.  Today was compliant polish sausage with braised brussels sprouts - sadly, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as I got home from my graveyard shift and the contractor was painting our garage floor, where my backup fridge is with all my eggs and meat and stuff.  All we had in the house fridge was polish sausage and brussels sprouts.  I also did 30 minutes on the nordictrack.

Hi, I'm Lisa. This is my first official W30. I'm coming off 3.5 years of going through the health wringer after a car accident. I put on 20 lbs after surgery and feel like a slug. My dad tried to get me to do this a year ago and made me promise I'd give it a try (he was Paleo for years). That convo with him happened just a day or two before he had a heart attack and passed away. Now is the time. This month marks the anniversary of his passing and I owe it to myself and to him. Here we go!

I really don't know why he isn't supportive, he was very supportive of my first whole 30 but became frustrated when I was eating different things to the rest of the family. He says he worries about our children developing weird food ideas but is quite happy to feed them junk food. He goes through phases of healthyish eating followed by periods of eating loads of crap. Our daughter is very active with dancing and taekwondo but has the worst diet ever and is a little overweight, our son is severely underweight has ADHD and is currently having investigations as he has classic failure to thrive. Our older son is skinny fat and eats junk all the time, he is autistic. I try to be a role model but it all backfires especially as I have so many health problems I am not a good advertisement. Hopefully this whole 30 will be effective in dealing with my health problems.
