Hey all, I wrote a guest post for a friend's blog about my first Whole30 -- check it out to read about my victories, scale and non-scale: http://www.lifemadepaleo.com/just-eat-real-food-reflections-on-the-whole30/ Thanks for all of your support! Marcy

This is a really great blog to consider as you move into your "paleo/primal/postW30" JERF future, don't get caught up in the hype - http://re-evolutionary.com/2014/12/23/reevolution-of-thought/

I feel so good today! Everyone in my office has a cold...except me. Thought I would post here instead of point it out to them! I'm seeing major results in how my clothes fit too and I am thinking I am only going to reintorduce wine for now! Day 25... feeling so alive!

I'm hoping to convert some people! My husband played HS football with Chris Jones, who plays for the patriots (#94) so this is a big game in our house and we are going to do it up big! We love to cook and don't have kids so I'm sure we will be in the kitchen prepping most of the weekend until the big game!

We host a big superbowl party so I'm already menu planning & list making! Superbowl Menu (20 people) -- Paleo Parents - Mini Egg Pizzas Bacon wrapped dates (even if I have to order bacon online!) Pineapple kielbasas (fresh pineapple over sausage coin on toothpick & bake) BIG Veggie tray & paleo ranch Stuffed mushrooms Olive & pickle plate Chicken wings - Nomnom paleos Chile Lime & maybe the Healthy Foodie Smoky Hot BBQ (making the sauce this weekend on roasted chicken to try it out) Proscuitto wrapped prawns? (maybe.. budget depending) BIG Fruit tray (got someone else to bring this already!) Wanted an opinon on the "Our Paleo Life" mini sweet potato souffles as W30 compliant. She addresses it in the recipe than rationalizes it anyway, but I'm thinking no for Whole30. Just wanted to double check as they sound great. But it seems like baking to me... http://www.ourpaleolife.com/2013/03/mini-sweet-potato-souffles/ Anything I'm missing that would balance it out? Overall the menu is pretty high in fat & salt but I think it will please the guests and I'll keep my portions lighter. My no brakes foods are all sweets so not anticpating an issue.

I'm having dinner guests and making PopularPaleos TexMex Casserole - did all the veggie prep last night, it looks good already! ... in other news, just took the BlueCross BlueShield health assessment (required for my insurance - they are our 3rd party administrator) which flagged me on the "naughty" list for nourishment due to my lack of grain consumption. Can't wait to get a call from my "health coach" and give them an earful. I also answered I am not motivated to change my "poor diet" as they described it, so you know they will be calling me soon...

You guys. The bags under my eyes are gone. I went to put on my really expensive under eye cover up that I've been using for 1/2 my life (13 years) and found I don't need it. I'm so excited. I want to tell everyone. I must have a food sensitivity. I also have this bizarre skin condition (dermatographia) which is trigged by a histamine issue and I'm hoping I can quit the Zyrtec soon too, also been on allergy drugs for 13 years. Today is so good.

We went to the movies with another couple! Snuck in a serving of (okay maybe 1.5) of cashews & dates and didn't even think about the popcorn or bunchacrunch 3 feet away from me!

Hi! We have a few go to snacks: - Almond butter (the just almonds and oil kind) in the individual packs - I know they sell them at Target, but it can be tough to find plain (not vanilla or maple syrup). Put on celery or apples. - Dehydrated apple slices - Costco sells a huge bag for like $7 that is complaint - 27 servings. Of course whole apples are better but these are a little easier and they wont' get bruised in a bag. - Make some paleo ranch and cut up lots of veggies. Pack ranch in little mini containers (2oz disposable cups can be purchased at Gordon Foods if you have one). - the "on the go" prepacked olives could be a good option too. - Deli meat "wrapped" around cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, etc... Thanks, Marcy

Yesterday a mishap with the mandolin during my food prep left me with 7 stitches in my finger and today my husband had a $1K+ car repair and my debit card numbers got stolen... It was a stressful day to say the least! This would normally be a day I make an "excuse" to pick up dinner after work since I had to drive to the police station 30 minutes away to file my report BUT I came home and cooked a - tomato bun burger with mustard and homemade mayo with a kale and spinach salad with portabellas and olives = and I feel great. Enjoying some tea now and preparing the crockpot and my brain for the struggle that tomorrow may be! Good work on day 1 everybody!

I'm starting tomorrow with my husband! Kitchen is whole 30 ready! I food prepped most of day and ended up with 7 stitches after an incident with the mandolin slicer! Its only motivating me more, what a funny start to my lifestyle change! My biggest challenge will be some upcoming parties with friends - a big 30th birthday and book club and euchre nights! (Midwestern girl here...). I decided to host the superbowl so I could control (mostly) what food will be there! My goal is to eat paleo after the challenge to support my energy levels and weight loss. My department at work is just me right now so stress management is another big challenge for me!
