    Hello Christy,
My name is Beth. This is my second Whole30. I am married, work full time ans I have 2 children; a daughter who is 20 and a son who is 17.  We also have 2 cats and 3 dogs.
I made Melissa’s chicken, sweet potato, and apple hash. I will be cooking a whole chicken tomorrow.
I would love to be one of your accountability partners.

My husband and I began our W30 adventure today. He was a little dubious about going on a "diet" - but with my 2 Nom-Nom Paleo books, the internet and a desire to load our meals with flavor, this first day wasn't so bad. I have always been a grazer, so keeping this to three meals a day is challenging. Dear hubby is a diabetic, and I am hoping this W30 will lead to depleting the need for meds for him. He's testing right now...first day, dinner was 3 hours ago, and the # is....155! Excellent#, no need for a shot tonight. He is a happy man. We spent the day prepping, so, Lord willing, this will be the beginning of a great relationship....with food!

Hi All,  I too decided to start the Whole30 on January 1st; but because I live in New Zealand that means I started today!
I’ve had a few health issues over the last two years (first a frozen shoulder, really nasty, and the unexplained joint pains).  Most of my life I’ve had issues with eating properly. My bad habits seem to have caught up with me. Time to make a change!
So, I’m a day ahead of the rest of you. It was all going well until my first attempt at mayonnaise. As I  “slowly” drizzled oil into the egg mix my brand new blender enthusiastically sprayed a fine fog of mayonnaise out of the hole in the top. Several adjustments later and I had the situation marginally under control. Unfortunately I still managed to add the oil too quickly and the mayo separated. Attempt 2:  still messy, but under control. Mayonnaise began to thicken nicely. That was when the blender began to disintegrate. The smoke was my first clue that something was wrong. When I took the top off I was greeted with lovely thick mayonnaise mixed with plastic bits. The highlight of day 2 will be returning the blender carcass to the appliance store.
Hope we you all have a less eventful day 1.

I’m Lynsey and I’m starting 1/1! I’m 32 with two daughters ages 7 & 4. Last Christmas my dad suffered a major stroke. He’s since had two more and is severely mentally and physically handicapped. He lives with my family and I’m one of his caregivers. His health issues were entirely diet related. I’m trying to prevent any of the lifestyle diseases he had before they set in—diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol & BP, sleep apnia, etc. I’m hoping for some great results and to set a good example for my daughters.

Nom Nom Paleo's pressure cooker Kalua Pig!  Amazing and so simple. Recommend going the extra mile and using the red alea sea salt but I'm sure it would be good with other salt also.  Got my instant pot after thanksgiving (black Fri sale).  The pig is my favorite so far but nothing has been bad. Amuses me to no end that I can cook a whole spaghetti squash in 4 minutes. Recipe called for 6 min but iike it a little more al dente.  Have fun! I love that thing!!
