Effective Thursday, August 27, 2015, members can no longer edit their own posts indefinitely.  Unfortunately the constant editing in the threads was causing issues within the forum, necessitating the change.
Members will now be allowed to edit their own post for 15 minutes after publishing (for fixing typos or adding a quick afterthought).  Beyond that initial 15 minutes, the post will be considered closed and can only be edited by an administrator or moderator.
Thank you very much for your understanding and for helping the forum to run as smoothly as possible.

The protocol in the UK for a Coeliac test is actually 6wks of eating gluten prior to testing as far as I know. What we're doing here, however,  is looking for food sensitivities, and in most cases, having eliminated gluten from the system for 30 days, the reaction will be fairly quick & obvious when it is reintroduced.

Brisket, slow cooked in a little lard (from when I sealed it in the pan), cloves, & garam masala, served with a full bag of spinach & a quarter onion (which reduced down to about 2 cups when sauteed), a beef tomato and a handful of olives.

The brisket had cooked over night with some shin in my crock-pot and was so tender.

2 pounds ground chicken (I use ground chicken thighs as it's moister...if you use ground breast, add some of the bacon fat for richness)
1 pound bacon, diced and cooked until very crispy, then drained
    1 bunch cilantro chopped
a handful of chives from the garden...or a couple scallions
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
Form into patties...and then in that magical depression that you make in the middle of a burger to stop it turning into a baseball when you cook it? You jam a bunch of pickled jalapeños.

I would have preferred to mix the jalapeños into the burger meat but husband doesn't like spicy so I had to do it so that he could pick them out/off.

I grilled the ones I have on hand right now but have also done them in the oven...on a rack placed on a cookie sheet and baked at 500F for 10-12 minutes.

    This morning's breakfast...served cold.

Chicken bacon jalapeno burger, greek salad (minus the feta, of course) & half avocado.  And lots of rock salt.  And coffee.

My best breakfast recently was when I rode my bike to work and my wonderful boyfriend brought me my breakfast to eat at my desk. It was a huge salad with many different leaves including spinach & watercress, avocado, apricot & bacon ( bacon here is very meaty and is protein not just fat)

I'm not sure if this is breakfast, or more of a brunch, since I slept later than usual, but this is what I had for my first meal today:

Elvis burger (hamburger patty topped with almond butter, banana, and bacon), collard greens, and sweet potatoes (yes, they were slightly burnt. One of these days I'll learn to set a timer).

Super easy one yesterday.  Ground beef/turkey combo, diced red pepper, snow peas and a big handful of baby kale.  Served with some pickled jalapeños and a blop of mayo.

Thanks for clarifying. Biona's definitely a little pricier. TRS was a household brand as I was growing up, and readily available in the Indian shops in my hometown of Wembley, so that's good to know! Will stock up next time I visit the parents :-)

This morning I've got leftover chicken meatballs, green beans, spinach and pesto (meatballs and pesto recipes from the new w30 book).
I did have a couple of fried eggs with mine, because I really like eggs, but it would have been just as delicious without.

This morning was hamburger patties, the last of some tricolore salad I made for the week (thank goodness -- it's good, but getting soggy and I'm tired of it. Next time, I'll only make a half batch), tostones, jicama, tahini dressing, and berry-lemon-ginger kombucha.
