    Alternatives to sweet potato?

wow I've been out of communication for awhile and just got these updates. WELL! the sweet potato hating boyfriend is now the sweet potato mash loving FIANCE! So clearly i was doing something right!!! he still doesnt like them as wedges but will scarf up the mash (in which i hide coconut cream to fatten him up further) like its about to disappear xx

i made spaghetti squash the other night for the first time. to be honest i probably prefer zoodles with my spag bol but it was interesting and fun to make. when i compared the size of them here vs LA though i was amazed. ours are HUGE! way too much for two people! my poor boyfriend didnt really like it and he knows he will be forcefed it for the next few days til its gone haha!

  10. My boyfriend was initially quite similar but I basically stopped buying the shitty food at the supermarket but he knew he was more than welcome to have it if he went to buy it himself.... Laziness prevailed and there is no shitty food in the house. I did used to make paleo dinners and then just do additional potatoes or rice for him but that eventually petered out too as he found he could live without them. I also loaded the freezer so full with meat etc that there was no room for icecream. Oh dear how sad. I imagine your new eating habits have made your husband aware of his own habits and he probably feels a bit demonised. I wish I had more advice but trying to chnage a husband and four kids is a lot harder than changing a boyfriend. Hugs!!

    Alternatives to sweet potato?

I should mention I'm in Australia and I'm not actually sure what a plantain is haha! I'll google it. We use pumpkin as a savoury roast vegetable not something sweet down here so I guess that's similar to butternut squash. I didn't recognise some of the things on your list Tom but I bet we just call them something different. Google here I come!!
  12. I love them but my boyfriend is not a fan... He's tall and skinny (6'1" and 156lb/71kg) and his family is from chile so I had a hard enough time tearing him away from pounds and pounds of rice! Usually we are having big salads and chicken/grass fed beef for lunch and dinner but I can see him disappearing before my eyes - any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not me but I get amazing sausages and meatballs and steak etc from GRUB www.grassrootsurbanbutchery.com. Not sure if they ship Australia wide or just NSW.

Cpb it's pricey here but you want the coconut secret coconut aminos, NOT the coconut amino sauce that I've seen a few times as that has coconut sap in it. In the other 'AUSTRALIANS' thread I've offered to bring aminos back from LA on my weekly trips and they work out to be about $10 per bottle. There is an online store in Brisbane selling it for $20 a bottle - yikes!!

Glimmer it's just along from the bacon and sort of near the smoked salmon at the edgecliff one if that helps!
