Sunflower Seed Butter OK but Sunflower Seed Oil is not?

I would guess that the amount of processing required to make the oil in the specific grade alters it to a form/concentration were not supposed to eat.

    Pre-, Post-workout food

I have the same kind of schedule with a 6 am crossfit class. Pre workout is 2 hardboiled egg whites, small spoon of almond butter and a glass of tea. Not much but enough to wake the system up. Post workout is a big pile of shredded sweat potato cooked in coconut oil. A two egg omelette with sweet peppers, mushroom and a giant handful of spinach or kale cooked in ghee. Throw blueberries and blackberries on top. Hope this helps.

Need an eggs & spinach breakfast recipe...

I do something similar. Pan fry mushrooms, diced peppers onions, shredded carrots for s few minutes. Toss in a big handful of spinach and cook down completely. Mix in eggs and coconut Milk from the can. Serve with sweet potato hash and throw some blueberries on top.

    anyone get bored of food?

This was dinner tonight. I'm post whole 30. The turkey was picked up at a local bbq house, mashed sweet potatoes with ghee & coconut cream, squash, zucchini and avocado.

    anyone get bored of food?

Same here. Food has become fuel and I seemed to have lost the desire to create these themed meals. Meal priorities are now filling the specific nutritional needs regardless of whether the foods go together or not. And I have had some weird combinations when I'm fishing for leftovers in the fridge.

    Dairy Re-Introduction Disaster

Compliant since last Friday to get my system back into shape. Today I tried cheese only as a limited dairy introduction. It's not been even an hour and I already feel the effects. A little bloating and that over-ate feeling, which I have not had at all during the whole30. 2 strikes and dairy is out. Not worth it.

    leftover pulled pork

The caramelized plantains are incredible! I recommend that one for a number of dishes besides pulled pork.

    Dairy Re-Introduction Disaster

I figure the Xylitol after looking at webMD and seeing a side effect as bloating & diarrhea.
  10. Completed my Whole30 last week and started following the reintroduction guide in the book. First up Dairy, Friday I had a little sharp cheddar cheese on a burger lettuce wrap. Tasted OK and no real reactions right away. Friday night we went for frozen yogurt, which we used to do on a regular basis. Boy that was a mistake. Almost immediately i was getting stomach cramps and not feeling great. Seemed to go away after an hour or so. And then each meal I have eaten since my stomach bothered me a little. This morning I'm suffering the end results of "garbage in - garbage out". So I wondered over to their website to see what was really in the frozen yogurt and this is what I found: Vanilla (GF) Non-Fat Milk, Maltodextrin, Polydextrose, Xylitol, Non Fat Dry Milk, Cultured Skim Milk, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Natural and Artificial Vanilla Flavor, Sucralose , Acesulfame Potassium (Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactose). Contains: Milk, Soy. Chocolate (GF) Non-Fat Milk, Maltodextrin, Polydextrose, Xylitol, Non Fat Dry Milk, Cocoa Powder (processed with Alkali) , Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Sucralose ,Acesulfame Potassium (Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactose). Contains: Milk, Soy. I'm guessing the Xylitol is what probably did me in. So for now I'm giving it a few more days or maybe until next weekend before I take the next step. I'm thinking dairy reintroduction for me should be much smaller steps, say cheese only for couple of meals and wait and see. When it comes to the cold stuff I think i'll stick with good old Breyers vanilla which is straight milk and sugar to see how I handle that.

Day 25 and doing it tough

On Day 26 and up until Day 23 energy was very even throughout the day and much better than before Whole30. On day 23 I did a big hike up one of the mountain trails here in Phoenix. Seemed fine the rest of that day but crashed that night and my energy has been all over since.

PUFAs: How much is too much? Serving Sizes?

Here is a source I found that lists out the ratio for certain items. http://paleozonenutrition.com/2011/05/10/omega-6-and-3-in-nuts-oils-meat-and-fish-tools-to-get-it-right/ Seems like everything plant like has higher Omega 6. Look how high Walnuts are.

    Whole Foods Buffet

The whole foods here in AZ has a smokehouse that serves burgers. Bison, grass fed & other options. Get them without bun and order the sauteed veggies as a side. Takes a little longer to get your meal but it's worth it.
  14. Talking to the server about being on an elimination diet definitely helped me this last weekend to make sure they did not use any butter. After I explained to her I think she actually wrote allergy on the order and listed the NO's out. Got exactly what I wanted with no fuss.

    Shredded sweet potato

I shred up a bunch on the weekend and store in a baggie for the week. Stores OK for a long time and has alot of moisture content. A trick I figured out this weekend is to put the shredded SP between some paper towels and press the water out as much as possible before you cook it. I usually cook it in ghee to make browns.
