Happy day 28! Today I have discovered the most amazing thing - left over apple sauce (literally cooked Bramley apple with fennel seeds) made for Sunday dinner is completely delicious with veg and eggs for breakfast  who knew?

On another note, I see lots of people starting to plan introductions, which is very sensible at this stage. It's my third round and all I'll be bringing back for now is wine for cooking (not drinking), lack of it is too limiting for weekend dinners in the slow cooker and it does me no noticeable harm. For people reintroducing right away I'd highly recommend keeping a record of what and when and how you feel - it's easy to sweep a less than good reaction under the carpet when there's a strong emotional or nostalgic connection with the food.... I've certainly allowed that to happen in the past ...

I've found that planning extra starchy carbs works for me, also just eating 'more' in general for the few days before  it's due seems to help. Sweet potatoes and ghee, maybe a bit extra protein too and you can never have too much broccoli in my opinion - obviously not everyone feels that way about broccoli though

It's the evening of day 14 for me and I'm posting in recognition of an NSV that's easily overlooked. I have atrocious pmt carb cravings every month; no matter what I do or eat I always want extra easy sugar. One of the best things about whole30 is that it's really easy to feel hungry and just eat more food, no counting how many calories are contained within some godsforsaken packet of nutrition free pseudo-food - I just eat a bit more home cooked, delicious, actual food and move on, safe in the knowledge that my appetite will balance out next week  happy days (and really tasty stir-fry with pineapple)

    Hi All!
I'm Marie and on Day #3! This is my first Whole30 adventure. Glad to be committed with you all.
i'm a mother (one child with special needs), wife, personal trainer, fitness instuctor, triathlete, and full-time self employed in a family landscape business.... and I need a nutritional reboot big time. My dearest friend is currently battling cancer as well as a family member. It's never been more apparent to me how important what we put into our bodies is as it stands to me today. Even with all my experiences with exercise, I have not fully benefited because my eating habits have always been average at best and it has caught up to me physically, mentally and I'm sure emotionally too.
I'm truly  looking forward to engaging and connecting with you all through this process and lifestyle change. We can do this, one bite at a time!
Cheers to our 30 days of introspection into our relationship with food and changing our choices to healthy ones.
    Marie

I'm technically starting today, instead of September 1st, but I'm looking for people to chat with! My Whole30 will be from Sept. 3rd-Oct. 2nd, just in time for my birthday weekend!

This is a restart for me. I attempted my first Whole30 on August 12th. One week in I forgot what I was doing and absentmindedly ate a small muffin... so originally I was going to add 7 extra days to my Whole30, but then 3 weeks in I ate some cashews with peanut oil (didn't read the label first, learned my lesson!), so I realized I just need to start over, give my best effort, and see this through. I'm not disappointed in starting over because I'm happy with my results so far and I'm excited to see what the next 30 days have in store.

    Cheers everyone!

I'm back to it on Tuesday 29th - I crashed off my last attempt after 17 days but this will be my third whole 30. My problem is that I don't have strong negative reactions to particular foods and have drifted back into poor eating (and drinking) choices. When I stay close to template I feel infinitely  better but it's so easy to forget feeling less than great, especially when it creeps up so gradually....

I was going to start with the September 1 group, but just this weekend thought "why wait?".  So I'll start tomorrow. I did some shopping and cleaned out my fridge. I've done a few W30's so this is familiar territory. I just feel the need to clean up some habits I've slipped into - and to slip into a few pairs of jeans that have gotten tighter!  I'm also looking for a bit of an energy boost. I really do feel so much better when I take care of myself with good food. A major goal is to do this simply. I don't buy a lot of specialty items: ghee, as it's a staple for me when I learned dairy is not my friend and coconut aminos, as I do love simple stir fries and the coconut aminos make them taste special. Oh, and I do like kombucha!
    Wishing you all the best!

I am starting tomorrow with you guys, too. It will be my third....just need to reset from summer...bad habits creeping back in and I want to get back on track. Excited about this one as I was training for a half marathon during my previous two...and the tiger blood was a bit elusive. I want to see how this goes with my steady regular workout regimen.
Actually just realized I have been completely compliant today.  Thought about calling it day one, but I think I will have my final glass of wine with our end of summer dinner tonight. Good luck to you all. Get some prep in today? I believe someone should start every Whole30 with......"Ladies and gentlemen....start your dishwashers...."

    Thanks for all the support.
Day 13 for me.  This week did not go as well as the first week.
Areas that need improvement - increase water, decrease nuts (thinking about giving them up for reminder of W30), only eat when sitting, lunch must always be a real meal instead of a snacky meal, don't eat between meals unless I am hungry.
Positive - No cravings.  W30 always eliminates all my cravings.
Considering going beyond 30 days but I know  reintroduction is important.  I have done many W30s but never did reintroduction.  The only foods I want to introduce are rice (sushi) and steal cut oats.  I gave up wheat years ago; I never eat legumes, I never drink alcohol.  I am not supposed to eat dairy due to intestinal issues but I sometimes eat ice cream.  I already know ice cream is not a good choice for me.  Since it takes more than 30 days to develop new habits (I believe I read it takes 66 days) and my goal is lasting changes, maybe adding a week or two would be beneficial.

It is hard for me to reply to so many posts but I am reading daily and appreciate everyone's contributions.  Hope all that are sick feel better soon.
Having issues with depression.  It has nothing to do with the food.  It's related to my brain and life circumstances.  Yesterday I found out my the father of my husband (who died in Nov. 2015) died.  The news brought back so much pain.  I have come along way but I still require lots of healing.  So grateful I am on the W30.  Feeling in control of my food helps me feel better in other areas of my life.
Day 5 for me.  So far, this is my best W30 experience.  I usually go to the gym but I have decided not to go this week (not sure about next week).  I want my main focus to be on food and timing of meals.  Instead of the gym, I have been taking long walks to help my mood.
