I don't know how you do the same breakfast and lunch every day! You're some kind of wizard! Also, where do you get your nutpods? Do you have to order it?

The Whole30 is an elimination protocol at its core, designed to remove inflammatory foods for 30 days to allow your gut to heal. If you did not eat anything off plan, your reset is still in tact.

I make it a point not to eat out as much on Whole30. It really solves many problems. 1. You learn other ways to socialize other than making food the social activity. 2. You save money. 3. You really focus on eating what fuels your body and following the template instead of eating only 2 eggs when that is not adhering to the meal template.
My point is that I realize there are social engagements that require our attendance, but maybe you could also step up for some of the suggested engagements and offer to cook a big pot of soup for the group or suggest only doing the movie fest, not ending with food at all OR just not going to the food part. At the end of the day, you have control over your day and your life. You can choose to allow negative emotions in your mind while at these engagements, you can control the emotions or you can control the environment and leave.

My husband can't eat eggs. He has always viewed breakfast as "Meal 1." And really, it's an American thing that we view breakfast as what it is. Most other countries, from what I understand, don't view it in the same way we do.
He typically eats chicken and a potato side for breakfast OR if there are leftovers, he'll eat stew or whatever. Breakfast is what YOU make it, not what society says it is. The spirit of Whole30 is to try new foods. I'd take that spirit to heart and make some egg casseroles or try leftovers for breakfast and see how that makes you feel both physically and mentally.

Just wanted to share that I'm a happily married wife with two small children and I'm the only person who does Whole30 in my house. During my first Whole30, there was even a moment where I was spoon feeding my toddler gelato. So yeah.

Just wanted to let you know that you're not the only parent out there, and you can do it! Whole30 has changed my life forever. It's worth it.

IF is not always good for women and it can have lasting negative impacts.
I know a few people still recovering from it.

Just be aware of the risks and make sure your doctor knows, as the consequences can be long lasting, with very long roads to recovery.

MamaJ reacted to Tom Denham in Question about how much is too much potatoes
We generally recommend at least one fist-size serving of a starchy veggie like potatoes per day and more if needed to feel good and perform well. Three servings per day may be more than you need, but that is really something for you to test and see for yourself. You certainly can lose weight while eating 3 servings per day because many people do. However, if you feel good while eating only two servings per day, you might want to see how you do with one serving per day. Just don't risk going to zero servings per day.

So super stoked to be on Day 30! I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much easier than I thought it would be. This weekend was really trying though. So many things went wrong in my personal life.

Oh well. It's Monday. I'm closing on our new home in 1 hour and it's Day 30. I have a huge shopping date planned with one of best friends this weekend, and I'm going to buy new clothes and new shoes and do some Christmas shopping for my sexy husband and our gorgeous children.

    It's a good day.

Have you thought about coming at this from the other side and prioritising yourself a bit more so you have time to feed yourself properly and not have to eat in your car? Obviously I have no idea about the distance from your home to work to the school etc but from what you have written you seem to be the bottom of your priority list, maybe you could make yourself more important to you?

So, what if you do get on the scale and it says the same amount? What happens? Does the world end? Are you suddenly less loved by your friends and family? Are you any less valuable or useful as a member of society?

Weight is just a number. It doesn't tell you anything very useful. There are several articles about why you shouldn't put so much emphasis on the scale -- maybe start with this one and this one. And then maybe check out this post for visual evidence of how weight doesn't tell you anything about body composition or how you look.

WholeAmy, what a great testimonial. Thank you so much for sharing. After praying and talking with my husband, I decided to abstain from the meal, which is happening today. I brought a fancy lunch (grilled chicken topped with sautéed veggies and avocado!) so I wouldn't feel "deprived." I, too, am not one to call attention to myself. My department knows I'm doing Whole30 but no one else here at work.

And I too thought to myself... Mexican food will be here again and the bosses will buy lunch again and then if I want to participate after, I can. It's one day. I can do one day. You have motivated me and inspired me to stick to my plan even more!!!

There is absolutely no problem with an extra mini-meal or even an ENTIRE 4th meal for a nursing mom. But it should be protein + fat + veggies to feel your best. Too many folks here want to snack on fruit & nuts, and it is just not ideal, for a variety of reasons. I assume you want consistent energy, good moods & fat loss. Following the template will get you there!

Ahhhhh...day 4, the good old days when the program is young and exciting...kidding of course...but Day 4 does feel like a very long time ago.
I want to continue on because now that I'm thru the worst of it (and there were some truly crabby days between Oct.1st and today), I'm seeing some very unexpected results, such as my eyesight improvement, the rash on my hand disappearing, my joints sure are less achy, a lot less achy actually, my cravings are pretty much gone, and overall I feel much much better than when I started. I took a video of myself the first day, and I was so down and defeated the morning I started, it's very sad to see myself like that. After only 21 days, I've accomplished so much in terms of healing that now it seems as if I've just begun, not almost completed, this process. I can see now how much internal damage was done to my body fighting cancer: surgery after surgery for two straight years, and all the antibiotics and pain killers and stress I endured, and then just the physical stuff like scare tissue and frozen shoulders which are loosening up beyond any expectation I had. I want to lose weight, too, but that hasn't happened yet. My feeling is that will come once these other areas are revitalized. Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly love this way of living. In fact, every day I wake up and want to cheat. Not in any big way, like wolfing down a pint of ice cream or anything like that, but I'd like to not feel so heavily shackled to some of the rules. I haven't cheated but I certainly want to. I don't even think about the holidays. I take things one day at time, and try not to be too concerned about thanksgiving and XMAS. They'll get here soon enough whether I'm doing this program or not. I'm just running on the road that's beneath my feet, and not the one that's 18 miles out. I've been pretty miserable and crabby some days but those were a while ago, and now it's all pretty easy. I don't think about it too much, which is a sharp contrast from when I started.
