    Hi all,
I hope you dont mind me jumping on your group.  I started 6/4 but my group page isnt very interactive.
Just finished week 2 and I am getting tired of the prepping food.  Honestly, I just want cornflakes.  I haven't cheated once and I dont plan on it, but thats where my heads at.  This weekend, I ate at my SIL house and she was great at making foods I can eat.  BUT when dessert came out I literally wished I could have it.  I went to her fridge looking for a fruit and she had NONE.  It wasnt a good feeling.
I missed dinner last night because I just wasnt prepared to make anything.  This happens to me on the weekends, I end up missing meals.  UGH
How is everyones MOnday so far?
    Best,
    Jennifer

Great idea, I’m with you on the fact that nothing she has put together has disappointed me yet so I can’t think of a better place to start!
I feel like I waste a lot trying different dressing recipes and then really not liking them.  I often just warm up the protein and let some of the broth or juice be the dressing but I’m determined to keep trying.
Dance recital was cute, dinner out after was a challenge but I wasn’t craving anything or tempted by anything anyone had so that’s a great sign that I’m well into this reset.

I haven’t posted in a few days, but have been following along and enjoy hearing how everyone is doing!
It has been a bit of a struggle on my end, keeping the motivation to keep on the W30, but I keep trying to remind myself that it will be worth it...I just need that tiger blood to kick in!!  Onward to day 13!

Hang in the Mama PJ...I have this thing where I must nickname you PJ in my mind.  Probably just a Day 12 thing.  It may be a week for the most simple meals possible but I think you’ve got the gumption to find a way.  Sometimes the most variety my meals get during a hard week is whether the mushrooms go under the burger instead of over!
I’m headed upstairs from yoga which was a short session for me thanks to catching PMS from this group.  (My story, sticking to it.  I’m sure I would have skipped this month if I hadn’t been attuning with you, lol.)  Fingers crossed that Orange Chicken reheats half as good as it was last night and then I’m chilling for the evening.  I’m an Apple Watch addict so when I’ve hit all three rings by early evening it’s a cause for celebration and some down time!

That one recipe I didn’t get done ahead yesterday but was making fresh tonight?  Daaaaaang guys, it rocked.  I haven’t done anything with dates in a sauce before, but there are some sauces that do need a tad of sweet.  Even so, I think I would mix this one in more rarely than the DAILY I was thinking at first bite.  I might also do half the dates and see if it really needed them for my tastes.  What I do love is that it’s a great way to get some broccoli in.  I like broccoli, but let’s all admit there was a reason Melissa used it in her famous “if you are hungry enough for boiled fish and broccoli” example.
Anyway this recipe was on the W30 Instagram feed last week and it just shot up to my top 10 list.

Menu planning is getting tougher this week.  I thought I'd share my weekly menu in case any of you are looking for new ideas.  It's not exciting but it works!

Today I was riding to the store with my Mom and she unwrapped a lifesaver...the crinkle of the wrapper make me like Pavlov’s dog! Mouth salivating like crazy!
Aside from that I feel like it’s been going pretty well. Had carrots and asked my mom if these were a different kind of carrot...they tasted so sweet! She said they tasted like normal carrots so it must be my tastebuds adjusting. I call that a nsv!

Hoot!  I think your lunch alone out meal prepped my entire week!
At least I remembered my wallet this weekend so the grocery run was “only” two trips due to running out of walnuts.
    If it’s not a wallet it’s a walnut?!
I think I’m getting a touch slap happy.
But meal prep is basically done, one more dish that I plan to make hot/fresh tomorrow but otherwise I’m set for the week.  Off to get in my yoga and then maybe stare at the ceiling in savasana for an hour just to be off my feet.  It was actually nice to be in the kitchen on a rainy day here but I’m shooting for ultra minimal on prep next week.

agreed on the menu planning getting tougher, on the one hand, but on the other, I'm starting to get it a little bit.  for my (rather late) lunch, I poached chicken with peppercorns, sage, salt, garlic, and a bay leaf, then cut it into chunks to make into chicken salad with cucumber, basil, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, and cinnamon-pear vinegar, which I ate on a bed of romaine & spinach, with slivered almonds, nutritional yeast, and garlic aioli!

Now that I look, it is “my time” soon so that makes some sense. Also, I’m not comforting myself with baked goods so I’m probably more aware of it.
I’m adding sweet potatoes to my meals, that is supposed to help.
    Power on friends!!

weird - I felt weepy yesterday, but I just got my period, so...I thought that was the reason.  maybe, maybe not, who knows?

I felt yucky on Day 7 (or is it Day 8?) too, with a headache that lasted all day and all night.  I'm going to cut down my coffee today and see if caffeine is the culprit.

Day 7!  Anyone else feeling weepy and just out of sorts?  I'm eating well, trying to sleep well but today I'm just off.  I was feeling better earlier this week and it's almost like the hangover came late.

I'm not sure if someone else already suggested this or not but....I love the frittata recipe in the book.  I made it over the weekend and took a sliver for a morning snack the other day, tastes great at room temperature and easy to make ahead of time.  You can also switch it up other ways.

Lightening fast update bc I have a workout to get in but one tip I always found interesting for people who were used to a hot cereal breakfast is to try subbing in a cup of creamy type soup.  Obviously “creamy” can be sort of hard to achieve with no dairy but getting creative with a sweet potato based soup or something with some coconut cream might help fill the void in a way that eggs don’t and soups have that great portability factor.  And they are a perfect vehicle for veggies.
Actually I started to type veghicle....which cracked me up more than it should have.

Hello!  I haven’t been actively posting but I have been following along.  It sounds like most of us are doing pretty good!
I planned out all of my meals, typed it up in a Word Doc with the page numbers / website of where the recipe was from.  This has been a huge help!  I check it the night before to see if I need to prep/crockpot and I feel prepared.  I have the Whole30 Day-by-Day journal and I write in in every day.  I like the set up and the quick daily reminders of what is going on.
So far the food I’ve cooked has been amazing!  A few W30 recipes and some Nom Nom Paleo recipes.  I made a couple of different sauces on Sunday to get through the week (arugula pesto, avocado crema, & balsamic vinaigrette).  This also helped a lot and added a nice flavor to my lunches when everyone else was eating donuts today.  I went out to dinner tonight for the first time (celebration meal, my son is going to middle school) and it was horrible.  I had halibut, a plain baked potato and steamed veggies.  No flavor at all!!!
I did get a “little” cranky tonight   Fortunately, my husband is in the same boat so we laughed at each other later.  I feel this weird, calm but cranky/tired feeling.  Like the sunshine is inside me but behind a cloud right now.  Anyone else?
Good luck!  The one week mark is just around the corner......
