  1. There's probably a better forum to discuss the legitimate homeopathic applications for marijuana than this one...

    I don't mean that to sound harsh, but rather realistic. Most herbs/plants in nature have some sort of useful application...that's where most of the active ingredients in most of our drugs are derived from. We're not really qualified...nor is this forum really set up to talk about the majority of that stuff. It's pretty off topic within the constraints of the W30.

    In regards to your personal experiences and how other people say they use it for X and Y, I'll just say that people are wired differently. Some folks are chronically understimulated enough that playing around with uppers sounds like a good idea, others are so high strung that depressants like pot can help them simmer down. Some people self-medicate with this stuff to try to balance out what's going on in their own heads.

    (though i'm totally not advocating that...just offering that perspective)

  2. There are actually empirical studies about gut flora changing a your diet changes. I'll try to hunt some down for you. Robb Wolf also has a bunch of data from his risk assessment work with the Reno fire department, but that hasn't been published yet. (it's probably in review)

    More important than the scientific research, is eating minimally processed, nutrient dense foods, rich in veggies and high quality protein, from local sources with ethical/responsible practices REALLY that drastic?

    So you've ditched sugar and grains and dairy...but there is not a single macro or micronutrient in those foods that you cannot get with this program

  3. Derval, it WAS set up like that. It was a mistake in the initial setup (along with the being unable to post to it thing).

    Unfortunately, I don't have admin rights, so I can only speculate as to the process, but I think there are a bunch of variables that you need to check off when adding a new topic. I think going back to fix those omissions is more difficult than the initial input would have been.

    The last tweak that Matt made fixed visibility on my end, so hopefully it's just another quick tweak to get "members" viewing and posting access on par with "moderators" (at least in THAT forum)

    jhmomi, I'm 89% certain that all the kinks are worked out. It was set up to only show topics from that were posted to today. Can you poke around and let me know if you see everybody's?

    When I moved your logs, I left redirect links in this forum, so you (and any other regular visitors would see that it moved, and could click right to it. It's not your real post, just a redirect link, so it shouldn't update when you update your real log.

    Second, I noticed that the post visibility was off too. I moved 5 logs, but can only see two if I go straight to the forum. I've already let the webguru know about it, so he should be letting us know what's up soon.

    In the meantime, you can still get to your favorite Post Whole30 logs from the redirect links mentioned above. Annoying, I know. So sorry for the technical difficulties. We're working on it!

  6. Everything Tom said, and additionally...the first 2 weeks of the W30 is rough for most people. "Rough" can manifest in a few different ways, and digestive issues are unfortunately one of those ways. I personally rode it out, but short term supplementation is the way to go if you're just really bothered by it. Stick it out the 30 days and do come back if you have continued problems!
