    Everybody above has some good thoughts. M&D definitely stress the importance of quality (pastured, organic, etc), but they also tell you to buy what you can afford. If that means conventional everything, so be it. Eating the conventionally raised stuff is STILL better for you than munching down on wheat, corn and processed foods.
    One of the big takeaways (imo) is, if you can only afford to buy one type of higher quality food, prioritize the protein before the veggies. For the longest time in my Paleo life, the only high quality thing I could purchase were eggs. It was the best bang for my buck, imo.     I'm on day 24 of my first Whole30. Haven't had a period in almost 2 full years (unharmful side effect of my birth control, per my gynecologist)  - guess what re-appeared today?

    Does this mean soy is not my friend?  Wondering if it merits not reintroducing soy when I'm done with the Whole30.  (Mostly got soy from my daily soymilk in my morning coffee, which I'm fine with not reintroducing.)

    You can do whatever you want while not on a W30, but under zero circumstances do I believe that soda of any variety makes you anything but LESS healthy. Your call though!
    Personally, I can't stand the taste of it anymore. Sickeningly sweet
