    Members 2 posts My husband and I are staying on it for another 2 weeks and after that, we promised ourselves clean WHOLE30 eating Sunday thru Friday - not going to overindulge on Saturdays but going to allow myself to have a nice meal out (not fast food) and even having a glass of wine or two. I wont be doing this every weekend but occasionally. I honestly have no cravings for sugary, fatty foods right now, I find that I do crave "clean" foods which is funny for me. I absolutely love the meals I've made over the last month and will keep making those plus new ones I might find. I am also staying away from Dairy which isn't too difficult for me, I feel bloated when I eat dairy. Again, this isn't a Diet, its a new way of life and new way to eat....you proved to yourself you have control over your mind and cravings...and you love yourself enough to get this far, pretty impressive, don't you think?

    Good luck you guys, I'm almost done with my first whole30, on day 20, and it's so worth it!!! I feel amazing! First week was the absolute toughest for me but pulled through it. if you research and prepare you will succeed! Good luck and keep the faith in yourself, you're worth it! Trust me, you'll feel great.

    So my husband, who is doing this with me, decided to get on the scale this morning and just told me about it. He hasn't lost 1 lb, and he's majorly upset about it. I think more frustrated. Now I'm nervous too but will not get on the scale until the 30 days is over, but in the back of my head I'm wondering what will happen if that scale remained the same. I do feel better but we shall see. I want to start off saying he's a diabetic. Here's his normal routine: (mine differs during the day: he wanted me to write on his behalf) Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs and a banana Snack: 1 oz of plain almonds, no salt Lunch: salad with roughly 6 oz of turkey, broccoli, carrots, zucchini and a few tomatoes. Snack: piece of fruit (small apple or orange) Dinner: is usually 5/8oz protein (fish or chicken or pork or Bison) about a cup of greens and 1/2 sweet potato or reg potato. We cook everything with ghee or olive oil. Have been compliant as far as everything else goes. Any thoughts? I just don't want him to get frustrated and quit the program. Thx!

    I just heard a nutritionist on the radio talking about Winter and how it impacts our systems, depending on where you live...pretty much said our bodies are trying to prepare for winter by trying to store extra weight/fat for the winter months and that we are fighting ourselves when we are trying to "diet" in these months...not sure how accurate it is but maybe part of some of your problems where you feel "bla"......also, check your Vitamin D, I always have a deficiency in these months, that can play a role in your mood as well.

    ok DAY 12 and I was really doubting the energy they said we'd start having today BUT HOLY COW!!!! I swear I got like 1000 things done already and its only 2:30!!!! I feel awesome today!!!! my only issue is I HAVENT PLANNED DINNER YET!!! i'm sure there's leftovers... How's everyone else doing? 28 DAYS LEFT!!! rock on!

    its tough but luckily I'm not solo on this quest....I have my Husband and 3 other couples doing this and another friend from work so I think that helps...I don't know if I could do this on my own, the guidance is huge for me (one of the couples did this before so they can give me pointers.) trust me, I found my hand reaching for the pretzels and I couldn't believe how mindless some eating can be, such a bad habit, eat just to eat...I found not making eye contact works too ha! awful...but funny! I guess over time we'll do better at social situations - but you might be surprised how his Grandparents react to what you are doing, it shows control, dedication and wanting to better yourself. They might just understand and not pressure you into eating, but you know them better than I do It wasn't easy being out in a social situation, I really felt like I was in panic mode, it truly is amazing how we battle ourselves, only person I was afraid of was me! no one else cares if I eat or not lol... You got this L_dougherty85!!!! Day 8...celebrate!

    Day 8 and a Monday! I'm feeling pretty good, I do feel less bloated and I am never really hungry nor have I had any cravings (which is VERY odd for me; something new to get used to.) How did everyone do over the weekend? This was my first weekend doing Whole30 (like most I was assume) and was so nervous to go out with friend to a High School benefit where there'd be pizza, cookies and booze. I got there and really felt out of place, like I was really challenging myself. I didn't like that feeling, almost like a panic attack. I calmed myself down and shackled my arms to my waist so I couldn't reach food to my mouth...kidding of course. I took a few deep breaths, kept telling myself "you go this" and ended up thinking why I was doing this which led me to relax and just enjoy the company I was with. After explaining to my friends why I wasn't eating pizza, they were all very interested in the program. Believe it or not, I was explaining this to a Navy Seal and he really said "God bless you, I know I couldn't do that." funny a Navy Seal saying that... It was a tough weekend...but having one under my belt now, knowing what to expect, I think I can concur a few more!!! Have a GREAT week guys!

    What's that law again...? oh yeah, Murphy's Law.....remember I said yesterday I was fine and wasn't feeling these emotions most were feeling? Well, woke up and BAM yup moody as all heck..i think I'm a day behind everyone...good thing I'm working from home today as I'm feeling very short tempered...ugh....maybe take a hot shower and lock myself in a room today So Day 5, I mark off each day in my calendar and cant wait to get over that mid-point hump, more checks than empty day boxes! How is everyone doing today? I am not craving anything and I have to say I'm not feeling hungry, I feel satisfied with the 3 meals a day... I didn't think I'd even make it this far, I guess I have more will power than I thought? Anyways, here's to Day 5 - Rock it guys and keep up the great work!!!!!
