    The crazy things people say

Normal should be real food! I saw something on the news the other day about the "Real Food Fad" -- like it's another fad diet or something!!!

Which reminds me, this same daughter, that plays hockey 5 days a week in winter, soccer and track in the summer, came home from a field trip and had only eaten a tiny bit of her lunch. I asked her why, and she replied, "Elise's mom says calories make people fat and my meat has a lot of calories." OMG! She's healthy and active, loves salmon and asparagus and veggies. This woman has her freaking out, at age 7, about calories. I was so furious I didn't even know what to say!

    The crazy things people say

I was researching hockey goalie camps for my daughter, and came across one that offers Paleo lunches during the 1-week camp, plus CrossFit Kids styled workouts!!! It's probably a bit intense for her age (7) but I'm bookmarking them for the future!

Actually, warm/flat coke or sprite/7 up is a very common thing to give after vomiting. I don't know the science behind it, but oddly enough it does seem to settle the stomach. I'm from the west coast, and my mom always used 7up; my Midwest in-laws swear by coke. I give my kids coconut water, to replace electrolytes. Kind of a more natural pedialyte.

    Almond Flour

I'm going to make this tonight with what I have on hand: tuna, egg, diced fire-roasted tomatoes, dried chives, dried parsley, s&p. Hopefully it will turn out okay.

    Almond Flour

    Whoa, those look delicious!

    Almond Flour

I'd say that's fine, since it's a binding agent for the salmon, like you'd use for meatballs or meatloaf/meat muffins. ETA: Robin posted as I was typing, so I'd defer to her experience.

    Whole30 and Five Guys

I'd be guessing yes. 99% of the bacon out there does.

    pressure cooker

Oooh, Tom... I'd love adaptations of Mel's recipes for the pressure cooker! Don't suppose you were able to adapt the Carnitas recipe? Or maybe that wouldn't work well because you need to reduce the citrus sauce. Hmm. I have the stand-alone Cusinart CPC-600 and love it, but don't use it as much as I could. I steam 3 artichokes at a time when I can get them, and I've attempted a roast or some meat here or there with mixed success. Most of the recipes are really non-compliant, so I find I'm trying to adapt and just not that good at it. I'd love instructions on how to cook with it, period. The whole chicken idea sounds wonderful! I've read you can cook meats from frozen as well, is that true? That would be heavenly on the days I forget to pull something out ahead of time!

    So you need 3 more?

Whole 30 and your social life?

I don't have a social life, but I'd like one... LOL I just say I have food allergies (or if they've known me, I say I've "developed" them). No one questions that! Now dating... and trying to find someone that is also paleo-minded, that's a whole 'nother can o' worms!
