It may be part of the healing detoxing process.... Your liver and kineys are flushing out waste and need more water to do this. You also don't hold as much water when you have less carbs o maybe your body wants a higher reserve...

So I made this great breakfast of leftover cooked veges with three beaten eggs and showed off my beautiful creation still in the pan to my partner and instead of telling me how great it looked I got.... thats a lot to eat for breakfast!!!
Was so tempted to say yeah right, 350 calories of healthy unprocessed food is bad for breakfast but your two weetbix with milk and muesli on top is the better meal? Hmmmph!

melbournegirl got a reaction from felicat in Sugar cravings worse after whole 30
I did a 100 to banish my sugar dragon... It comes to visit every now and then but after the hundred I decided to keep all added sugars out of my daily diet, even maple and honey. Any swypo sweet foods I make I only allow myself fruit or juice as the sole sweetener. And when I have alcohol it's almost exclusively a dry red. I don't miss what I don't have. The few occasions I go crazy on work sweets or chocolate gifts the sweetness is so intense I am okay with it just being a one off as although I enjoy the taste on that occasion... It no longer feels like a real food experience and I am happy to go back to natural flavours again.
Also I recently chose to have some icecream and sweet biscuits a few days in a row after none for over 9 months... I was amazed that the icecream didn't seem to affect me and even more amazed that once I opened the biscuit barrel 4-5 biscuits disappeared almost instantaneously... Then a few days later I suffered a horrendous skin flare up that took three weeks of compliant eating to reduce.... So that's a potent sign to keep staying off gluten and dairy.
I have chosen to not be a slave to fake food trickery....

I'm in my 40s, had 18 years as a strict vegetarian... Developed gluten intolerance... Started eating meat and gluten free grains. Did a gluten intolerance trial and developed dairy intolerance. Tried being vegan for 6 months but after an initial improvement went downhill rapidly. Did a month or two of paleo followed by a whole30 and what do you know first time all my blood work pretty much got into the heathy range. Family history of gall bladder disease, heart disease, cancer and diabetes ... These are all systemic inflammation diseases. Grains, legumes and dairy = inflammation. Paleo = health. Whole9 = reduced inflammation!

I'm still here.  Work is very busy.  I'm headed to NY this afternoon, coming back Friday night, going back Monday super early and home next Thursday.  Stinks!  And, today is 13yo's (13!!!!!!!) birthday and I won't be home for it.    He was really good about it.  We celebrated this morning with presents and donuts (well, not me...).  He liked his ipod dock/radio and the fact that with that comes the ipod living in his room instead of living in the family room.  A little more responsibility and trust with being 13.  It's just a bummer to not get to celebrate tonight as we'd planned.  Oh well. Nothing to be done now.

So, with the next week being all travel and work and stress and likely not sleeping well in hotels and missing my family, I know I need to take care of myself.  Plans is to make the best food choices I can, limit alcohol, skip desserts entirely, use the travel yoga mat I packed, and just to my best to get through it.  I packed my de+stress aromatherapy stick from my stepmother, my yoga mat, and magnesium.  And some zinc losenges just in case.  Fingers crossed I stay healthy.  My boss has been horribly sick and he's coming along.  I will try to stay far away from him!

Kitchen is coming along.  By the time I come up for air at the end of next week, it'll be 4 weeks down and 7 to go!  They're finishing up the electrical and insultation this week, hopefully getting the inspections for those done this week, and starting drywall Monday.  Then, it will start looking better.  Still a long way to go, but coming along on schedule, at least.

I'll try to stop in to remind myself to be good!

We give money these days... My son likes to buy his own expensive branded clothes. We offset this by what we would have spent and he pays the balance from birthday money. Have also started giving movie double passes, they selects a friend to go with and we organise the transport etc. For my daughter we bought a $500 sewing machine which we put $100 towards then birthdays and Xmas she puts some of her present towards paying off the debt plus earns off against the debt by mending and making things for us. You might be able to extend that idea to something big your son wants?

Started a whole30 in November and after a short break started a whole100 in December which I have just finished.
I aim to continue pretty much without sugar, grains, dairy and legumes for as long as I can, hopefully forever. And since I just successfully made some sugar-free chocolate and a dried fruit egg muffin I reckon that's achievable. Disclaimer... I have gluten and dairy intolerances and can't digest legumes due to fodmap sensitivity so I am really only giving up rice and corn and expensive gf grains and sugar, syrup and honey.
The last few days I have had some juice, wine, bacon with 1% sugar, plain potato chips and the treats mentioned above. I don't feel quite as healthy and might be coming down with a cold already after not being sick at all for the last 100. So it's back to healthy eating for the rest of the week!
I chose the title because the last 4 years have been a roller coaster of various diets and being fixated on food ALL the time. I am free from my sugar dragon now and ready to eat normally and healthily and let my weight and shape take care of itself.
Coffee, nuts and coconut cause digestive issues for me and this triggers cravings so I know I need to limit my intake of these.
My short term goals are to lose a little weight and stay in good health for a surgical procedure I am getting done in May.

Been so busy at work, must have worked over 60 hours last week and my eating was poor and my exercise variable. My lip all blistered up too, a bit like a cold sore... time to make my health a priority.
Had a good nights sleep then up for a gentle 4 km jog
Good breakfast of eggs and vege soup and a good lunch of salad and turkey.
Made up a batch of chicken meatballs and turkey hash and cooking a big chicken casserole tonight so all ready for a good day tomorrow as well.
Might have a bit of sugar and rice and wine but trying to avoid the nasties like gluten, dairy and legumes and eat sensible amounts.
Played a bit of tennis and went for a swim.. Nice spring day. Weather is turning wintery again tomorrow.
