Congrats everyone!!!! We did it! 30 days! No grains, dairy, sugar, alcohol, legumes, et al. Woot! Biggest NSV... no foggy brain, easier to wake in the morning, deeper sleep at night, pants are looser, skin is clearer, and sweet cravings are gone! I went grocery shopping today and walked through the bakery and even browsed at some of it since it's day 30 afterall and thought.... "meh." No thanks! What?!?  Most importantly, I learned that while difficult, it's not impossible to cook good food with a toddler underfoot.

Happy day 30 everyone! Congratulations to everyone who made it this far! I don't know about you guys, but I feel very accomplished. I got a little ahead of myself and made a list (using the book) of all of my non-scale victories. It's nice to look at. My whole 30 wasnt perfect (I didn't eat any off-limit foods, but sometimes things got in the way of my meal plans and I was forced to snack), but I am really happy I did it. I plan on doing it again, so the things I didn't do right this time, I can focus more on the next time.

I am really happy I have a cold right now actually, because I don't feel quite ready to reintroduce the various food groups yet. Although I will be happy when I can have cottage cheese and cappucinos again! I am planning on doing the Fast-track reintroduction (although maybe making it a liiiittle slower than ten days).  Fingers crossed that dairy and legumes are no problem for me. I can live with out (or at least very rarely) eating processed carbs and drinking alcohol. But I love my dairy and black beans and tofu.

    How are you all?

Congrats to everyone on completed 30 days! I’m excited but I will not be reintroducing any items I plan on doing another 30 days. I actually don’t miss much of the things I ate before with the exception of pizza which I LOVE!!! But it can wait I’m in no rush. These 30 days I didn’t exercise at all, but with my next 30 days I plan on incorporating exercises into my routine. I used to work out 5-6 days a well but after getting sick I stopped for the last 3 months. It’s time to get back into my workouts and staying on Whole30. Love to hear about everyone’s NSV’s!

I did the same with exercise this time.  I’m going to do another round in a couple of weeks and add in exercise.  Pizza and potatoe chips for me, pizza I’ll have, but going to avoid the chips as long as I can.  Congrats to you too!

Congrats to you too!  I’m okay actually starting to have a little more energy, so I’m glad for that.  Planning to do another round soon and make sure I don’t go back to my old habits.  It’s a little weird, because I’m thinking of what I want to really have vs. is it worth it?  My mindset toward food is definitely much more healthy.

I had a dream similar to this earlier on in the program!!! I ate an entire bag of potato chips in my dream and then cried!!!! That was one of the worst "nightmares" I remember having in terms of the relief factor when waking up to realize it was a dream!!!

It's day 29, everyone!!!! WOW! How did that happen so quickly? We're almost there..... I know some of you are nervous.... it's soooooooo important to keep meal planning to keep yourself on track during reinro. But, eventually, you'll become confident and know what you can and cannot have and what's "worth it" to you. You've come this far!!! Celebrate!

You might surprise yourself.... I mean, your instincts could be spot on.... but my first whole30, I was POSITIVE dairy was an issue but it didn't give me any trouble at ALL during reintroduction. I WAS surprised that legumes were the culprit the whole time! But, I think you have a good plan to try it first. Just be sure if it DOES cause symptoms to stay on whole30 foods until you feel better before reintroducing something else. I'm interested to know how you react!

Gasp! Ohmygoshyouguys!!!!! I made this recipe tonight for dinner due to food boredom and google searching ingredients I had on hand..... SO. Freakin. GOOD! Two minor adjustments I made.... I had chicken breasts, not thighs on hand and I used thyme as the main spice. Enjoy!

Do you take vitamin D? I am totally a believer that we NEED our sunshine vitamin d! (But I am guilty of not doing anything about it usually.) But, YES... I get this. Totally get this.

YAY!!! Celebratory cappucino is a great idea! And YES planning reintroduction is probably even MORE important than planning the whole30 program itself since the rules are more guidelines than actual rules!

I'm still here too! 4 more days (counting today) and all I can think about the past few days is food (what I'm going to eat on re-introduction days) and weighing myself!  I have decided to skip the day 1 alcohol re-intro because I have noticed I really don't miss wine like I thought I would (or is it just because I want to get to eat pizza again sooner?) So I think I'll do the legumes, then non-gluten grains, then dairy, then gluten, and then I'll decide about the alcohol.

Yes, I wanted to take the time to reintroduce different legumes slowly last time, but as I said-- I was newly pregnant and once morning sickness took over-- it was just too difficult to keep track of.

Hooray!! Next week you can find out for sure. Last time I took measurements on my thighs and waist to see if there was a difference there, but I forgot to do that on day 0. Oh well..... I feel like my face looks thinner, so I'll take it!!

I read somewhere that some proverb says that "80% is perfection." Meaning.... if you expect 100% all the time, you will fail. But 80% is doable.... I like that! Yes for 30 days, 100% is doable.... but for the rest of my life?? I'm aiming for perfection.
Who else is still with us??? We've got this, Jeanne! Down to the end... I planned meals for week one of reintro. Glass of wine day 31. Then whole30 days 32 and 33.... We're meeting with friends over the weekend so will be having hummus and most likely non gluten grains in the same meal.... but then back to whole30 for 3 days and if we're feeling well, we'll try gluten.

Day 23!! I am suffering from food boredom, but I am feeling well! My skin is clear, my sleep is deep and I have energy throughout the day!! Hooray. My biggest struggle is fitting in dedicated meal times with my toddler's ever changing schedule. Today I had to eat my lunch in two sessions a couple hours apart due to his needs. Oh well. I do what I can!

Y’all were almost through!!!!! I’m really glad I stuck this out.  Trying to plan out my re-introduction, but i feeling pretty sure dairy is goin to be my main culprit.  I. Planning another round since I’ve done so well this time, just wish I wasn’t so tired still, but I’m thinking I had way more sugar (from processed foods) than I realized.  Plus this has gotten me excited about cooking again, I’ve made some really great recipes.

I am not a mod, but I tend towards OCD which means I've read the rules quite a bit, and feel pretty comfortable saying that Kalina is correct, chips of any kind are not allowed on the Whole 30 program.
The way I think about it, there are two aspects to the Whole 30, physical and mental.  They are, of course, interrelated.  From a physical standpoint, the primary purpose is to eliminate all potentially problematic food types from your diet, and then do the one at a time reintros to understand their impact on you personally.
Additionally, many people have an unhealthy psychological relationship with food, in one or more areas.  Whole 30 tries to address this as well.  Not unwisely, chips are ruled out, as fried/crispy/salty things tend to be addictive.
However, these "mental" issues are where there may be gray-ish areas, at least to my mind.  If you were to do a whole 30 in every way EXCEPT you ate compliant kale chips one night in the first week, compliant zucchini chips one night the second week, etc, I'm pretty sure you could still do re-intros and experience the educational benefits of adding foods back one at a time.  But would you experience the same benefit of MENTALLY changing your relationship with food?  I'd say POSSIBLY not, maybe PROBABLY not.  So, I'd say it would be best to not try to include chips of any kind during the whole 30, but if you already did once or twice, don't scrap the work you've done - you can still experience most of the benefits.
That's long winded, hope it helps

Thinking ahead to reintroduction.... I like this article, it delves into what the book outlines pretty well......
    https://blog.platejoy.com/whole30-reintroduction-plan-add-back-new-foods/
I'm wondering how to tackle reinro this time around. I know I need to focus really well on gluten and legumes. I did a fast track reintro after my first whole30 and found I had trouble with legumes..... but didn't have time to really separate the different legumes to see how I reacted to each individual type (Ex Soy vs beans vs peanut butter vs peas) before we left on our vacation in which I wanted to be completely done with reintroduction by then.... and by the time I did reintro to gluten, I was having morning sickness due to being newly pregnant, so I'm not sure if the gluten was making me react or just pregnancy hormones!!! I did learn last time that I'm completely fine with nongluten grains, dairy, and the occasional glass of wine. This was a BIG relief because starting the whole30, I thought I might have to breakup with dairy. I'll still reintro those but I'll most likely do another fast reintro with them and do a slower role with gluten and legumes. Hope that jumble made sense!!! I need it to make sense in my brain and so I am hoping that getting this typed out will help me moving forward to meal plan the weeks ahead for reintro (my last 10 days of strict whole30 are already planned out)
