Took me awhile to come post But at this point I can say that I lost 6lbs over the 30 days. My NSVs: My congestion was definitely from milk and it's wonderful to be able to breathe! The edema in my legs has subsided substantially (always allergen induced). My craving for sweets and junk has gone away. My eating habits improved and I'm feeling much more in control and confident because of it. My sleep habits improved. I could've lost more weight if I'd been more active (Injury limited this) or more careful with portions... Portions are something to master next round. All in all, I'm happy that I reframed my eating habits and sleep habits Thank you everyone! I'm so glad we had this group to share the experience. You've all been invaluable!

TeacherFitJourneyy, I love what you said! Bravo! All of it... especially the shake part AND the "We ROCK" part! Yes! We all do!

I've been thinking about this too. This is my 2nd W30 so I'm going to be more careful this time. Last time I chose one thing at a time... for a few days. Then went all in. Felt crummy. I'm not doing it again. I know some definite food sensitivities. As much as I'd like a Flat White At Starbucks, milk makes me feel awful (congestion & other sinus issues). Sugar... we all know how that one goes. So there's 2 things I'm not excited to have right away. It will be nice to not have to worry so much about restaurant menus. Even still, I'm thinking I might just keep going. Or have a day or two to enjoy some things then go for the next round. I am not too sure what I'll indulge in. Maybe a nice dinner that includes my favorite quinoa recipe. I'd been craving that at one point in our W30 round. What's everyone else doing?

Congratulations Deezilla! Everything you're describing sounds delicious. It's food choices like those that make Whole 30 so worthwhile you never want to give it up. Yum. So far I've found coconut cream (that is compliant) at Trader Joe's. Have you found some anywhere else?

BajaChick, But how do you FEEL? Do you feel healthier? Do you feel happier? Do you feel more confident in how you make nutritional choices? If so, then you have so much more going for you than huge numbers lost on the scale! Slow weight loss is weight lost that you'll be more likely to maintain. You've got this and you're doing GREAT

LOL! Oh no, believe me - I know the "danger foods" inside and out. No do overs because of an accident here!

Hang in there Photogirly! Week 2 is hard for just about everyone. Get past this and you'll be so happy you did. It gets easier. Promise! As for Mexican foods - why not eat things that will satisfy your craving? There are plenty of compliant things you can make or eat. I found a delicious salsa that has no sugar and a whole lot of heat. It's delicious. I put it on eggs. You could put it over cooked chicken breast. I even use it as salad dressing. You could make all the sauteed veggies that go in fajitas then saute the meat in the pan with the liquid and spice from the veggies. Put it all together and eat minus the usual fajita starch... still delicious! Once the cravings for the bad are out of your system, you won't miss them so much. Maybe not at all with how good you find you feel! You can do this

Yes, I meant AFTER W30 to incorporate corn tortillas into your diet (as opposed to flour tortillas).

So excited! I tried something new today... and the house smells so good! I've got sweet potatoes in the Crockpot. So easy and they are done ahead of time. All I did was wash and scrub them and put them in to cook on the 8hour setting. They were soft and done by the 5hr mark! I'll have one hot tonight and save the rest to reheat other nights.

trinx, I've never tried Avocado oil. What was it like? I just found a recipe for roasted vegetables that calls for it and I was considering buying some. Otherwise I'll just stick with olive oil.

Thank you all of you! Reading along is keeping me strong. I managed to make it through the weekend too and there were tough temptations and menu hurdles to overcome but I'm super proud of myself! I think that having been several days in and off of sugar was key. I had a family emergency and had to rush out of town. That meant dining out... and ended with my family ordering rounds of margaritas the last day... and OMG they looked good BUT my W30 progress felt way better. I enjoyed my Perrier and lime and got over the craving. Ordered salad after salad with grilled whatever on top, pared down non-compliant toppings, and had vinaigrette on the side. Now I'm back home and loving my ability to make what I want. There were moments when people kept tempting me to throw in the towel, but reading about all of your trials and successes kept me on track. Thanks everyone! Here's to us and how far we've already come!

YES! Me too. Ridiculously thirsty. Even more so today than yesterday and I had thought it was because I had too much protein yesterday, but now that you're mentioning it too...

Went to bed exhausted last night... and I was tired early which is unusual for me. Then The Headache hit. I'm exhausted tonight. I hope I get some sleep. Already seeing a difference in attitude towards food. After dinner I'm full, no more snacking. Wow. This is worth the headache. Skipped my coffee today because I didn't have time to make it at home. We'll see how that plays out with the sleep tonight... On the eggs topic - I remember a muffin tin recipe that made them tasty. Line each cup with prosciutto. Crack an egg into your prosciutto cup. Season it anyway you want maybe add some leftover roasted vegetables. Bake. They are great to keep on hand in the fridge for the next few days. Thanks everyone - hearing about your experiences so far keeps me on track. I don't feel like I'm alone!

Love the sweet potatoes! They sound great. Rosemary makes everything delicious. Sometimes I do roasted sweet potatoes too, but with garlic powder, cinnamon, cayenne, and smoked paprika. I'll have to try your way now. P. S. Roasted butternut squash is sweet if you use key lime juice and rosemary. Have to keep the food interesting so I look forward to eating it

So excited! Had my 1st cup of black coffee since my last W30 and it wasn't as bad as I feared! Yum. Milk is definitely a problem for me, but not lactose intolerance issues that are gastric. It's more a headache, Sinus congestion, + insane sinus drainage... so I'm going to be happy to be eliminating that craving for milk. I usually eat pretty healthy (except winter starch cravings drive me to comfort foods and junk). I'm cleaning up my act tonight! I'll have a steak, salad, and asparagus. I'm going to miss my quinoa How's everyone else's day 1 going?

Hi Everyone, I'm starting tomorrow too. I'm so glad there's so many of us beginning together. I really need the support! I did a Whole 30 about a year ago. Back then it was to figure out allergens. This time I too have had major life changes affecting my health and fitness. In October I had an injury that has kept me from exercising like I used to. Now I need to lose weight AND quit all the bad eating habits I've accumulated and get back on track. I'm much more excited to get started now that I've found a great group. I don't think I would've stayed motivated on my own.
