    GF Grain Reintro

Hi everyone! Just looking for some advice regarding my reintroduction. I finished my 2nd round of whole30 last week and am in the process of the reintroduction. I started with legumes and those went ok - didn't notice anything. Today I tried gf grains. I had oatmeal for breakfast and felt fine throughout the day besides the fact that I was hungry sooner than normal. For supper I had some sweet potato chicken curry (which I have been eating throughout the program) and brown rice. Within an hour after eating I had severe diarrhea (sorry if TMI). Can I assume this is from the rice? Before the whole30 I ate rice only occasionally and never noticed any symptoms from eating it.

    Lenten Whole30 2/14-4/1

I freeze broth in ice cube trays. Then I store them in a larger freezer bag. When I'm ready to use I just take out what I need and the frozen cubes thaw quickly!

Yes! This is my goal too, to figure out how life looks after W30. My family said the same thing, "why are you doing that again?" I really don't want to fall back into my bad habits again, so I'm hoping this whole 30 can help me. So far it's going great!

    Lenten Whole30 2/14-4/1

Made it through day 4 and still feeling good! I work nights and someone brought donuts today. The candy drawer is full too. I'm staying as far away as possible. Normally I'd be eating way too much of candy and probably having a donut, but I really need to cure my sugar dragon with this whole 30! It's hard when it seems like everyone else around you is eating whatever they want. I just keep telling myself this will be worth it and I don't need all that sugar.

    Lenten Whole30 2/14-4/1

It's going well for me so far. I didn't eat a lot yesterday since it was Ash Wednesday and I was fasting. Today I was feeling overwhelmed because I was out of town at the beginning of the week and haven't really prepped anything. I have groceries, but meal planning is always hard for me. I will be working this weekend, so I'm hoping to make a few things tomorrow. Any meal planning tips?

This happened to me too. I did the reintro for my first whole 30 but then I went right back to how I was eating before. It's hard because I don't have balance, especially when I'm around other people who are eating whatever they want.

    Feb 15th start date

I'm starting on February 14th for my second round. My first whole 30 was about a year ago.

I'm going to do a Whole30 for Lent as well! It will be my second time. I completed my first Whole30 almost a year ago. I think I would like to read Food Freedom too because I really need to get my sugar dragon under control. Good luck to you!
  9. I did so well avoiding sugar during my March whole30. Now with reintroductions and this past weekend being Easter I overdid it, especially in the chocolate/sugar department. I was doing so well, but I have no self control! It wasn't hard to avoid sugar on whole30 but now that it's over and I don't have ruled I'm in trouble. I don't do moderation very well. How do I overcome this sugar addiction once and for all?

    Excessive gas and constipation...help!

Ok, so I cut out broccoli, cauliflower, and brussel sprouts since my first post. That was 10 days ago and I'm now on day 29. I am feeling much better and have not had any more digestive issues! Here is what I have been eating the past few days: March 25 Meal 1: 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1 banana Meal 2: chicken salad with spinach, pepper, carrot, zucchini; 1 apple Meal 3: leftover sweet potato chicken curry; 1 cup bone broth March 26 Meal 1: egg bake, 2 pieces bacon, 1 banana Meal 2: chipotle sweet potato chili, green beans, 1 apple Meal 3: sweet potato shepard’s pie, pepper slices March 27, 2017 Meal 1: 3 scrambled eggs with pepper, onion, spinach; 1 banana; cold brewed coffee Meal 2: leftover beef stew, carrot slices with mayo Meal 3: leftover sweet potato chicken curry March 28, 2017 Meal 1: 3 hard boiled eggs, 1 slice bacon, 1 banana Meal 2: chicken salad with spinach, carrots, pepper, celery; 1 apple Meal 3: shredded chicken enchilada soup; roasted asparagus

    Excessive gas and constipation...help!

Sure. For breakfast most days I have either had a egg bake of some sort, scrambled eggs with onions, sweet potato, and spinach or leftovers from the day before. If I have eggs sometimes I have a couple pieces of bacon. Lunch is usually leftovers or chicken salad and some type of veggies (most likely broccoli or cauliflower). I ate my first meal today at 3am since I work nights and it was turkey and sweet potato chili. I also had some zucchini with that. Last week my lunches were on repeat since I meal prepped ahead. I had ground turkey with the roasted sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts for at least 4 days. If I have avocados stocked I will have part of that with at least one of my meals. I have been eating a lot of broccoli and brussel sprouts, mostly because those are my favorite vegetables. Another meal example is sweet potato shepard's pie with ground beef, carrots, and peppers. I had beef stew a couple days and then roasted some vegetables (broccoli or cauliflower) to have with it. I haven't kept a written record, so that's the best I can think of off the top of my head.
  12. Hello! I just finished day 19 and I'm still going strong! However, today I experienced excessive, foul smelling gas. I'm also constipated more than usual. I'm never regular, but today is worse and I feel like I have to go but I can't. The biggest change for me in the whole30 plan is that I cut out sugar. I didn't eat too many grains before and I ate a decent amount of vegetables (although I am eating a lot more now). I didn't have any of these issues up until now on day 19. Here's a run down of what I ate yesterday: Meal 1 was leftover egg bake that had butternut squash, kale, and onions in it. I also had some roasted broccoli. Meal 2 was ground turkey with roasted sweet potato and brussel sprouts. Meal 3 was leftover spaghetti squash casserole with ground beef and peppers in it. I also had some steamed mixed vegetables. I do drink coffee some days and have been putting coconut milk in it. This is something new from before I started whole30, but I have no idea if it is contributing to my issues. I would appreciate any advice! Thank you!

@SPeffer I'm doing the Twin Cities marathon. Honestly, I'm a little nervous just because it's been awhile some I've ran really long distances. I run pretty regularly but only 4-5 miles at a time.

@Mountain Girl Thanks! My mom is supportive and trying to eat clean herself (although not whole30). My dad said he is impressed that I am doing it but he can never go without bread at any meal. My brothers just like to tease but it does make it hard. I live in my own apartment, but I was home for the weekend. I am not the grad student at Carolina. I live in MN. Good luck with your half marathon! I ran one 2 years ago but I wasn't eating whole30 then. I'm planning on a marathon this year but not until October.

I've been pretty irritable and crabby today. We were in the car all day so I packed lunch. I learned I need to pack bigger lunches because it definitely didn't hold me over until supper. I'm home for the weekend and I'm realizing the challenges of being around family members who are not eating whole30. My family likes to rub it in too and ask me about foods I like but can't have (teenage brothers like to tease). Also, my family is having pizza for dinner and the smell is killing me!
