    Starting March 6 for Lent

Ok so here is a short summary for this round of W30. Since it was my 4th time I dived in thinking it was going to be a piece of cake "I've done this three times before so no problem, right?" Wrong. It was a challenge. Every time is different because my circumstances are different. This time around my greatest challenge was food boredom and lack of time to enjoy the cooking process (I usually love to cook and prep but this time I had so much going on in my life besides W30 that it was just really really hard to stay motivated). I am also no longer struggling with weight and I do not have any serious food related health issues so doing the W30 is an annual detox and reset for me - it is harder to stay motivated when there are no external factors to push you. I did lose 7.5 pounds this time around. I feel that my body is leaner. My weight is usually between 132 and 138 pounds. Not much tiger blood this time around, so I was a little disappointed. NSVs - started sleeping better the last week of W30, some workouts were let difficult, hair looks better and nails growing faster, clothes fit better and I feel better in my own body. Disappointments - no tiger blood, fatigue still present. Good luck ladies. I will be signing of but I do wish all of you to achieve your goals, whatever they may be. The most important one is to reclaim our health through healthier eating habits. Hugs.

Hey @pearlgirl2017 why are you missing coffee? Did you eliminate coffee? When I did my first W30 I began drinking black coffee no sugar and I have never gone back. I love my black coffee, my espressos and my turkish coffee. The taste is so much better without the milk and sugar. Like you my workouts have not been as strong as they could be. Usually by this time in the W30 I am feeling some tiger blood, but this time around all I feel is fatigue. Get some rest. Tomorrow is day 30 for me and also the last day. I am not doing the whole Lent. I am so excited to have yoghurt. That is truly the only thing I really miss. Yoghurt and cheese.

@Nedster7 Welcome. I also started in a different group and jumped in. My experience in the past has also super positive with the support from the forum. @pearlgirl2017 Thanks for your support and encouragement. Means a lot. Had a couple of days that were better. My mom made W30 compliant Goulash yester for my hubby and me. I cannot tell how much it means to just have one little break from the prepping and cooking. I feel reenergized and ready to finish off strong. I have not noticed many NSV this time around. But I have certainly lost inches this time. All of my clothes are hanging on me like on a clothes rack and my hubby says it might be too much. My meals are large and I am not hungry but I have been exercising 5-6 times a week. My body definitely feels leaner. I miss yoghurt the most. So diary will be my first introduction. I am also traveling to Florence, Italy just before Easter so pasta is definitely going to get introduced just before I leave. Since this is my 4th W30 I know that I really do not have any foods that cause me issues, except for yeast. So introduction will be a little quicker than it was during my first and second W30. Wishing everyone a great day.

He does help with the shopping and cleaning. But since the kitchen is "my domain" most of the work is still on me.

Well into Day 22 and still no sign of TIger Blood. I am actually feeling more tired and more run down. The food boredom has definitely set in and I do not have the time or motivation to be creative in the kitchen. Professional and personal stress is also getting to me. Feeling yucky.

Day 18. YAY! Slowly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Not missing certain foods at all. A craving creeps up every so often. My husband is doing the Whole30 with me so we are supporting each other. We almost never eat out. Only on special family occasions. We also very rarely order take out, so I cook A LOT. My mom helps out sometimes, she cooks a couple days a week (mostly stews) and makes extra for my family. She is great about adapting to be Whole30 compliant on those days. I am not bored with the food, I am not craving non compliant food, but I am really really sick of being in the kitchen all the time. I am either prepping, cooking or cleaning up. I feel like all I do is spend time in the kitchen. For me that is the most challenging aspect of the W30 - the amount of time spent in the kitchen. I work full time so between shopping for fresh ingredients, prepping, cooking and cleaning up I am exhausted and frustrated. I lose all that free time for me - to just sit and read, go for a walk etc. I can barely fit in my trips to the gym and a couple of times I had to skip those because I would not have time to prepare a meal for my hubby and myself and for my two girls. I know that it is about time management and that I should do more on the weekends to prepare for the week but it is still challenging and exhausting. Looking forward to having a couple of days a week when I can just sleep in 15 minutes longer and have cereal or put together a quick pasta meal for dinner.

Hi fellow Whole30ers. Hope you don't mind me jumping in like this. I am living in Europe, Croatia. This is my 4th Whole30. I struggle with the amount of time meal prep requires. I have to do everything from scratch here as there are absolutely no ready made options that are compliant.

@readyforchange716 Thanks for the empathy. It does feel a little better knowing that I am not alone. So far so good. I am feeling the fatigue but I am not ready to kill anyone. I remember from the last 3 times that although I did go through all the stages of the timeline just on different days. I think that I did not have the headaches and hangover because I have been eating pretty well. Not as much junk to clean out of the system, I guess. I am looking forward to the days that are coming when I will feel rested and refreshed. I did some shopping today and planned out the next few meals. Here is the plan looking forward: eggs for breakfast (it gets a bit boring but it is the easiest and I like eggs), I bought some pork loin, nice sausages, some turkey meat to make meatballs, tons of veggies like cauliflower, broccoli, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, some fruit such as apples and pears and strawberries. I prefer to improvise and cook what I feel like eating so having ingredients in the fridge works for me. I am planning to make some pulled pork soon in the crockpot and last time I did the Whole30 I made a Whole30 compliant Greek Moussaka and it was delicious. Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. Cheers.

Almost done with Day 2. Love hearing about your meals and recipes. My challenge as always is accessibility of ingredients in Europe. Some of the stuff you guys in North American have access to is simply not available. What I do have in Croatia is plenty of clean natural foods. I also don't have a lot of time. I work full time and have two small children. I try to workout at least 5 times a week so that leaves very little time for meal prep and cooking. I do like to cook I just don't like it when it eats up so much of my time. So my meals end up being quite simple affairs. Mornings are usually and egg scramble with veggies and sausage or bacon. The last two days lunch was chicken and steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Dinner tuna salad. Today lunch was the same chicken and steamed broccoli and cauliflower. And dinner will be turkey meatballs with grilled zucchini. Hopefully there will be enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow as well. I am looking forward to the weekend to get some shopping done so that next week I don't feel so rushed and stressed. Cheers all.

Hi cmac8! I will be starting on Wednesday March 6, 2019. I am planning on working through a Lent Whole30 up until April 18 or there about. I live in Zagreb, Croatia - Europe. So that means I will be about a day and a half behind you. This is my 4th Whole30. I try to do it once a year for Lent just to reset my system and clear out the toxins and junk. It gets easier every time and I am so much better about my eating habits. Every time I did the Whole30 I joined a group on the forum and that has made all the difference. I definitely need the support and encouragement because some days are tough. My husband will be joining me so hopefully we can support each other as well. Let me know how your first day goes. :)

    Lenten Whole30 2/14-4/1

Hello so here are my stats: lost 9 pounds and about 1.5 inches around thighs, buttocks and 2 inches around the waist. Reintro has been successful. I started with diary - yoghurt and cottage cheese. No side effects, feeling great! I did reintros after my first two W30s so I know that yeast is a no, no for me and of course sugar - so I am just bringing back my favorites one day at a time, keeping yeast and sugar out! I hope everyone is doing well.

Day 30! Yup, we made it! Not sure what tomorrow will bring! A gentle reintroduction for sure! I have some social events coming up but do not feel anxious that I will be tempted to slip at all. How is everyone doing?

Entering the last week and no tiger blood! That’s ok, there are definitely other NSVs. I am planning a slow reintroduction and for the most part staying with the program. I don’t have any food allergies or intolerances so I definitely want to bring back some items like yoghurt, beans, pasta every once in a while. I am thinkink weekly 5 days W30 and two days off plan! The one thing that I am not reintroducing is anything with yeast - yeast just drains my energy. We had a business event yesterday and they served a bunch of sweet amazing baked goods, I walked by them and appreciated how yummy and aesthetically beautiful everything was however was not tempted in the least to have something - huge NSV. The sugar demon is under control, and I plan to keep it chained up! Entering the last week I fell good - not excellent - good! I am hopeful that with spring, sun, fresh air and more outdoor activities my body will wake up and catch up with my alert mind! Happy last week to those of you on my schedule!

I cool the broth and then just pour into sturdy ziplock bags and freeze. Day 21 - 9 more days and then a slow reintroduction! I miss yoghurt and rice. My sugar demon is under control but I am still super tired. My meals are pretty big with plenty of healthy fats - I think my work situation is just too stressful at this point and is causing the fatigue. It is harder this Lent because Easter is so early. Last year with a late Easter, Spring was in full bloom and there was a variety of produce available. This year we are covered in 1.5 meters of snow and freezing temps so produce availability is slim. So jealous of those of you who have so much variety and some ready-to-go W30 compliant products. Have a wonderful day everyone!
