100% back on plan today … oh, except for a tiny bit of sugar in my ice tea.

Hi, Well, my reunion/campout went well.  I ate much more off-plan than I intended but I feel like everything I did eat pretty much followed the Food Freedom rules of making a conscious decision to eat it and stopping when I'd had enough to "satisfy the experience".  Some things I probably won't have opportunity again for another year and it's part of the experience - like my dad's sourdough pancakes.  I had heard that the sour dough process digests the gluten so they are technically gluten free, but I'm not sure that's entirely true since I did feel a rush of weakness and "yuck" within about 15 minutes of eating.. which is typical when I eat a lot of gluten.  Still, it was "worth it" for the experience this one time.  I also had a couple roasted marshmallows -- something I won't see again for a year, and stopped after about 3 for the whole weekend, . so that's pretty good.
I also had some fast food during the traveling, which was NOT Food Freedom, and was really only because I didn't prepare ahead.    Some of that included caffeinated drinks with sugar... which I'm definitely going to have work on getting back off of!
I can tell I don't feel as well after all that, but I will get back to healthy now.   I feel way better than I have afterwards in the past, and I've been pretty active, including a 3.5 mile walk yesterday.

Maybe you should read the part in FFF, where it gives you techniques to be more mindful about choosing food. But I think you have a good plan already
I only have dairy to reintroduce. I had sweeteners, it was not bad. Not good either, but I didn't eat much before.
I now want to be a little bit thoughtful about what to eat in the long run. I need to have "go to" foods, when I go to a restaurant. I also want to start with a stricter Whole30 in September. I have to design that also.

Yes, gas station convenience stores are horrible and of course I always think I need to have something to eat in the car, and there's literally nothing healthy in them.
That's great about the corn.  I think I will try fresh corn on the cob later in the summer and see if it's different than processed versions for me.
I've been walking about 2 miles a day lately.  It feels good and I can tell I'm carrying a tiny bit less weight down that trail!  Hopefully it will help take even more off.

Oh, yes, of course, coconut milk!  I would probably like it better that way anyway.

    LOL!  Same here!

At the party I nibbled a little bit on some gluten free muffin, and decided to try some cheese they had that was from 100% grass fed cows.  It interested me and is undoubtedly too expensive for me to choose to buy for myself very often, so I decided to try it.  The jury's still out on it -- it seems to have made me a little stuffy but not as bad as I would have expected so maybe there is something to it.   Maybe I will look into getting some if I get a real craving for cheese -- though that has more or less gone by the wayside.  Other than that I grabbed a huge plate of sliced veggies and fruit and filled up on that and unsweetened ice tea.  So it all worked out well
Well..... I guess that's not Whole 30 since it wasn't very balanced with protein and fat, but at least it wasn't junk food.  I had a well balanced dinner very soon after!

I was wondering if it is necessary to do the whole reintroduction, the second time around, since you already know what to expect from certain foods.
I “reintroduced” eggplants and beetroot. Definitely not worth it either
Tomorrow will be “alcohol-day” for me. It is the first thing I will reintroduce. Girls night out FTW!

We'd recommend reintroductions of some sort every time -- if not the shortened 10-day version, then maybe a slow roll. This article has some thoughts on things you might gain from multiple Whole30s and the reintroductions that follow them:  https://whole30.com/2014/09/five-things-melissa-hartwig-learned-whole30/

Hi, @NoreenM62 ! Good for you!
I think, it would be nice, to keep as close to the plan, as possible. I realized I have a cooking class in the beginning of July (its gluten free breakfasts), so I have to reintroduce some things until then, but I will try to keep up with the plan as close as possible. I think it would have been nice to do a 60 day diet, but I still can do it in September. So see you here for the summer

Wow, that's two NSVs for you
I had a "motivation" shirt, and it fits nicely now. And I have to adjust all my bellydance clothes It's nice Still i am beginning the mantra, that it doesn't matter what the scales says I am better, and smaller. I am actually afraid to step on it next week.

I hadn't been in a restaurant yet this time around and didn't realize how hard it is.  Ended up with a burger with avocado and no bun and a side salad. It was okay I guess.  Night before that I made Mel Joulwan's Moroccan meatballs and Moroccan cauli-rice.  That was delish.
NSVs- I'm hookng my bra strap at the shortest hook and the T shirt I put on today hangs much more nicely.

Thanks! My day was very similar, I am struggling too! I ate salad and meat for lunch and dinner, and I am not even hungry. But I know it is a recipe for disaster. I have to eat more complex foods. I am also craving everything my children eat. Hope to be over this soon.
I’ve solved my “limonade-problem” I made strawberry-cucumber water. It is quite nice actually.

Noemi, you should be so proud of yourself for staying compliant on your weekend away!!!! That's a NSV that will translate into less stress the further you go on this journey!
As for me, I am still eating compliant foods but in such ridiculous portions and times that it's hardly still the program.  But I"m going to keep plowing through.  Yesterday I noticed that I felt less clumsy and uncoordinated doing certain tasks, I had recovered from a long hike on Monday faster than expected, and my irritation level was down. Perfectly timed NSVs - without them I think I might have quit yesterday.  Right about now has always been the hardest time for me in the past and the time I usually do quit, so I want to get back to bigger meals with more veggies - I think I need to carve out longer times for meal prep.  I want to make this a lifestyle, not just a healthy detour.

@Noémi Ohhhhhhhh….. don't get discouraged.  I was just thinking earlier today that "weight" in and of itself really is not a good indicator of health. (I know a lot of thin people who are NOT healthy)  I think that's why Whole 30 forbids the scales.  You're feeling better in your clothes so that means things are moving in the right direction!  And I think feeling better overall is just around the corner -- energy, less cravings, greater muscle mass, joy, ability to concentrate, reasonable sleep patterns... those are all great health indicators and they're all going to get better.... for all of us!  And of course not overnight.     -- For the depression, try eating more carbs like beets or cooked carrots and even a little more fat - extra oil on salads or even nuts, whatever. Try to keep all that in the scope of meals or occasional balanced snacks, but I think it helps brain chemistry.. Good job not snacking on raisins, although even if you did, it wouldn't be BAAAADDDD!  I'm just trying to remember that even snacks should be balanced protein, carb, fat.

The farmer's market didn't have much produce this time of year so I bought basil plants as a "treat" instead of the delicious looking bakery items being sold = Non.Scale.Victory!!!

Today was “I want to eat everything and anything” day. But I managed to make it through. And I wasn’t even snacking on raisins, so yay!
My healer said I have to loose weight. Somehow it made me sad, and very unmotivated  Maybe because I cannot moose weight overnight and it is already an issue for me.
@CaseyP Hurray for the pants! I am also feeling better in my clothes, and the scale is very tempting.
Just this depression is not going away  It’s like a rollercoaster...

I have been waking up really early the last couple days.  In a way that's good, but it seems toooo early.
I have noticed pants are slightly more loose the last couple days - Yay!!
But my meals have gotten rather haphazard and not necessarily balanced.  I need to rethink that this weekend and plan better for next week.  I'm going to Farmer's market today so hopefully I will get some inspiration and have time to try a couple new recipes.

I am a little better today and even feel a little like exercising... did some stretches.  Today the crazy cravings hit.  Even things I don't normally even like - like beer and espresso!  I realized it's just my body panicking and it will get better.
So, how did you do in the restaurant?  You did get something you could eat? I'm sorry it stressed you out so much!    I'd say if you did your best, that's good, and even a non-scale victory!

CO2 is absorbed into liquids easier at cooler temps, so therefore in the fridge there will be more dissolved CO2, and therefore less CO2 as gas in the air gap, so less pressure, so less likely to burp.  kept at room temp, the scoby will continue to feed off any sugars, and continue to produce CO2 as a by product, so pressure will slowly build up if left long enough. hence bottle bombs if too much sugar added and left somewhere warm (if bottles are air tight).  to make it fizzy on purpose, leave somewhere warm for two weeks, to produce the co2, then somewhere cold for another week for the co2 to be absorbed back into the liquid.

@Cathy125 - when you use juice, how long are you leaving it in second fermentation for? I only use juice and mine is always very fizzy, sometimes excessively so.

I tried my home brew today. Not much fizz and sweeter than the commercial stuff but still refreshing and very drinkable. I tried my passion fruit and it tasted like a lager shandy which is fine with me.

there is sediment, but the lovekombucha website says that that would be from the ginger juice.  The earlier link to culturing your own suggests to only use a live culture that is unflavoured.  no harm in trying anyway.  I've had far too much of it today (400ml?) and not enough water besides, so I'll keep what's left and try to culture it up.

Sharing my disaster for the entertainment of others.
I went to a kombucha class, it was great. Rushed home and made my first batch, realised later I used tea I thought was black tea, but it wasn't.
Scoby almost filled entire giant jar, wrong shape for a scoby, disaster,  could not get the scoby out of the jar.
