We have a group! @AmyRosina Oh the maniac tendencies, they get me every time, haha.  Trying to change that.
    @CherylA  yes to that mindset.
@MissEmilyRae glad you started this Andy
@britgirl you are so prepared,  I’m inspired.  My books are out too.
Whats cooking today?  We’re grilling chicken (him) and blistering green beans and cherry tomatoes in the big skillet (me).  Bread for the kids.  I’m a little hangry.  Day 1 is easy it’s Night 1 that will be interesting.  I have to change a few habits.

Hi there!  I’d like to join you!  My first W30 was two years ago and I’ve been aiming for 80/20 paleo lately.  But I woke up this morning feeling bloated and thinking “I can feel better than this.”
I follow the Whole30 template much of the time but really like flexible eating to help my binge eating tendencies.  Less restriction works for me.  But last week was I noticed that cravings for sugar and wheat have a hold on me again. That’s not freedom.
I want my food to make me feel GOOD again.  I want the tiger blood!  I also need a lot of support.  I am alone at home in my desire to eat this way.  I can tell you stories...
Side note: I bought the Whole30 Fast and Easy cookbook recently after falling in love with it at the library and I’d highly recommend it.  It inspired me to try this again.
Well I hope everyone’s day is off to a good start   Cheers!

Hi there, I had a pretty epic experience with my first whole30 and I loved this way of eating. I think that i was undereating slightly but over the course of several months as it triggered some major bingeing behaviors in me that were left over from a previous eating disorder. I have not been able to get back on track for several months and will start to eat whole30 again and then will convince myself that I shouldn't restrict my food choices as that *could* make me binge but in reality the none whole30 foods that I eat appear to be gateway foods for me which inevitably lead me to binge on other foods which are a bad choice for me. I'm reluctant to label foods bad and good but I have come to accept that there are foods that make me feel bad and foods that make me feel good and the choices that I am making are not making me feel good. Despite the fact that my first whole30 was seemingly pretty easy and I continued to eat that way for several months I haven't been able to even get past day two of doing another whole30. Has anyone else experienced some post whole30 bingeing? Any tips or tricks from others who have come to Whole30 after an eating disorder. I know that research would suggest that restricting food choices leads to bingeing but I feel that I was led back to bingeing as a result of my calories being low rather than my restriction of foods. For a while I was very comfortable with exercising my Food Freedom Forever and did eat non-Whole30 foods when it felt worth it. If anyone has any personal experience relating to this particular field I would be really grateful for some advice. Thanks!

With one day of including any of the off limits foods I didn't notice any significant changes, other than snoring after I consume dairy.  Perhaps multiple days would make symptoms worse.  Still, I'm not going to make any of the foods a regular part of my diet.  After the Whole30 I feel amazing, and I know it's because I've kept a lot of junk out of my body.  It's probably more dangerous for me to add in these foods than for people who have strong, specific reactions to certain food groups, because if I don't immediately feel the negative effect of the food I'm more likely to keep eating it.  Gradually I'd feel like crap again and probably wouldn't even notice until I did another Whole 30.

I am seriously considering doing multiple days of each. I had thought maybe two or 3 days, and perhaps make the in-between days a minimum of 3 and more if needed. I have not approached my first re-intro day yet but I had a similar curiosity about this as you do. I'm also splitting my foods up a lot more than the base plan. Even with one day per, and two between, my plan is stretched out to 30 days.

I really appreciate this thread though. I've put a "what to look for" section into each re-intro day. I know I need to sort of "look for everything" but knowing common reactions is helpful.

Dairy caused my fingers to be swollen the next morning, soy gave me a stomachache and headache, and non-gluten grains gave me diarrhea.  Oh and when I had sugar for the first time after my reintro (without eating a meal before hand), I WANTED SUGAR SO BAAAAD.  It was scary.

Has anyone done a reintroduction where you reintro for a whole week or month, not just a day?  Sometimes I wonder if the reactions are just because you're body hasn't had that food for 30+ days.  It would also be interesting (and probably sucky) to see what other reactions to the foods would develop.  For me, maybe dairy would cause my fingers to swell the following day, but after a month of eating (even grass-fed, organic) dairy, it would cause depression or something else.

I had peanut butter this morning with an apple. It was less than 2 tablespoons. I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me but I felt almost nauseous after eating my breakfast which included that and spinach and eggs. I found that the peanut butter tasted nice but sadly it wasn't as amazing as I remembered.

Sugar is the druggiest drug I've ever had. Immediately after I consume it, I am a "happy drunk": relaxed, chatty, less-inhibited, and so on. I feel AMAZING on sugar. The next day, if I don't dose myself again, I am Mr. Hyde. We're talking rage. I find myself yelling for no reason, hating everyone and everything... It's a bad scene. And, of course, eating sugar makes me want to eat more sugar.

You buy a protein pack from Starbucks, giving the raisin muffin to your spouse and the cheese and peanutbutter to your two dogs so you can watch them wash their paws afterwards.
You refuse to go into a mini mart because everything is garbage.
You feel more safe being in the organic section of the grocery store.
Someone asks where you'd like to go for lunch and you pick your favorite grocery store.
You compare fast food to typhoid fever.

You drop the last blob of mayo onto the floor and realize it's not going to be a good day.

It's an amazing day when you get to the store and find the avocados on sale!

You see them in the sausage aisle saying, "Are you kidding me? Seriously? Who puts sugar in that?" and stamping their foot like a two-year old.
They have a freezer FULL of Applegate organic hot dogs.
Every single day, they're hard boiling eggs.
They go into ecstasy over a little coconut butter.
They have ten kinds of tea in their cabinet.
