  1. Body is screaming and head is pounding. They both are yelling potato chips and cupcakes in unison. The withdraws are real, and the addiction evident. Keep saying NO! Keep putting in the right stuff. “For the moment all discipli
  2. Hi all! Just wanted to say hi and that I am happy to be here fresh into day 2. So far, so good - today I don't feel great but I don't feel terrible either. Excited and nervous to see what the new 29+ days hold, any recommendations are welcome! I have been feeling so uncomfortable in my own skin for so long and I am so ready for a change. I am hoping this is what I need to start in a new direction. Wish me luck!

    Started yesterday!

I’m only on day 2, but already feel like I’ve got a lot more control and confidence! Any top tips from the seasoned vets? Also, do I need to add in foods at the end of the 30 days or can I just keep going?
  4. My husband and I started the Whole30 yesterday, so today is only day two. I’ve been suffering from chronic migraines since I was a young child, and I woke up this morning to an awful headache that is beginning to show migraine symptoms. Usually at this point I’d be sticking to a plain-rice-and-veggie-broth-only diet for at least the day, if not the next few days depending on symptoms. I’m hungry, but the idea of any other food is making me so nauseous that I can’t even begin to think about it. Rice/ broth are fairly flavorless and easy to eat during a migraine.. Do any of you have any suggestions on what I should try to eat/ how I could deal with this? I don’t want to have this be why I have to restart the Whole30, that seems so counterproductive to what I’m doing. I’d like to push through this. But I also can’t deal with a migraine for the next few days.
  5. Hey Guys, How is everyone doing, did you all survive the first day? I meal planned day 1 and 2, so I don't think I will have a hard time today. But I guess I need to start planning for the coming days, when things get real hard and "the hangover" kicks in.

I can do this! Day 2

Today is Day 2. I'm committed. I know that I can do this. Several years ago, I changed my diet to an Atkins diet and lost all the weight I carried. I felt great! Fast forward 10 years, 3 children, job changes, busy family, and all the weight is back. This will be a lifestyle change for me. I know how to do it. I am motivated. I. WILL. NOT. QUIT. That said, drinking plain tea sucks. I like my tea in the morning in the winter. It's ok though, I will learn to adapt. I also need to find some ways to change up my eggs in the morning and salad at lunch. I like both foods, but will get bored. I hope to be proactive and have some recipies in place before that happens. This will be a challenge, because while my husband supports me, and at home he will "follow" the plan, he will continue to eat his regular fast food and snacks while at work. He's not ready, which I understand. I've been wanting to do this all year, but just didn't have the right mindset. I read the book over Christmas break, and found my motivation. He'll get there eventually too. The biggest challenge are my picky eaters at home. I know, I know, it's my own fault that they are picky. I'm thinking about seeing a nutritionist for one kiddo who eats about 10 things total. He may have some sensory/texture issues and we need to work through this for his health too! My plan is to start with me, and then through the foods I prepare, teach them how to eat too. Some of the kids will follow easier than others. We'll get there. I'm going to keep telling myself that I can do this. Little by little, each day I'll do this and keep moving forward. I will choose to believe that I will succeed!
  7. Started Whole30 yesterday and I think I over did it on the meat. I really don't like meat and don't eat it that often. Each serving was only about my palm size, as recommended. So now it's only day two and I feel absolutely awful! Headache, foggy, tired, bad nausea...I can't eve bear to eat a thing this morning. My normal diet is overall "healthy" and light. I don't think the carb flu would be setting in after only one day so I think it would be related to the meat. How can I continue like this?! Is it ok to cut way back on my meat servings? Any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated!
