  1. Hello all! I’ve been having an issue and I’m hoping to hear from someone with a similar experience who may have advice... I recently got engaged. In the weeks after my engagement there were celebrations and we went on vacation. My skin had minor breakouts, which is normal for me, but I was consuming lots of breads and alcohol (I’ve been dairy free for 2 years). When we got home, I felt bloated and sluggish. A friend suggested whole 30 and I jumped right in with her on August 1st. Around day 9, I suddenly had large, painful, itchy acne all along my jawline with massive whiteheads. Whiteheads are really abnormal for me. Every day since then, I’ve woken up with new blemishes. It’s a revolving door of acne that won’t clear up. **a few disclaimers: I don’t eat nut butter. I cut almonds/nuts completely for 10 days and that didn’t help anything. I’ve been eating a healthy mix of fruits, veggies, meat, and eggs. I haven’t changed my skincare routine. I haven’t been wearing makeup, I cleanse my masks regularly like I always have.** Physically, I’m wayyyy less bloated, but it’s day 22 (R1) and we‘ve had to push our engagement pictures back because my skin is in so much pain, I can’t imagine putting makeup on. If anyone has a history with hormonal acne, did things eventually get better for you? Did you seek medical treatment? Did you ride it out? Any advice/relatable experiences is much appreciated!!!

    R1/D13 Acne Help?

Hello all! First and foremost I hope that you are all having a lovely week so far. :) I am a 25 year old male. I recently started the Whole30 program in pursuit of getting rid of my cystic acne that's located primarily on my forehead, temples and back. Also, small blemishes on my chin area that are constant but not cystic in nature most times. A little bit of a backstory here - I took Antibiotics (Bactrim DS) for acne for about FOUR years.. which is, 4 years too long imo but I was younger and didn't care about the consequences mainly because I didn't KNOW about the consequences - I just recently got off the antibiotics around October of last year. Needless to say, my digestion was not doing so good for a grip there. Either constipated or having BAD diarrhea. Which leads me here; because I am trying to RESOLVE the acne issue (which I believe stems from my gut issues) I want to take a natural approach to this. So far, I'm having pretty great success with my digestion becoming normal and on a cycle again which I believe is a great step in the right direction but my skin doesn't seem to be changing much quite yet :/ I suppose my question is one of experiencing - has anyone set out to do a Whole 30 for their skin health as the primary focus? If so, what was your experience? I know we will all be different but I need a little encouragement. Thank you all so much in advance!
  3. So I typically eat healthy and limit sugar in general so adjusting to this plan was pretty easy. However, I have yet to see the benefits. Im not looking to loose weight, but was hoping that an elimination diet would get my gut under control and my put my digestion in check. However, I broke out in acne - which I never ever get - about a week ago, and my gas is ridiculous! I referred to my blood type diet and saw that I should not be eating beef, which is mainly what I was eating the first 3 weeks. The elimination of chicken and beef have seemed to help more than anything else. I also eased up on the potatoes as I felt like they were just making me fat. Also having trouble understanding why additives are approved like dipotassium phosphate in Nut Pods? Seems odd for the program to allow this, and not allow other whole food substances. When stuff doesn't make sense to me it's really hard to see the point.
