  1. My period just arrived two weeks early even though I'm taking hormonal birth control. My period has been very regular for five years...I'm talking arriving exactly the same day and time like clockwork. Naturally this change is freaking me out. I'm on day 23 of the program and wondering if this is a common side effect? Could my diet really have such a huge effect on my menstrual cycle even while taking birth control? Any info or common experiences would help
  2. Hello, This isn't so much of a question, more of just an observation. I have been using birth control (intra-vaginal ring, not a pill) for about 6 months, and it's taken a while to get regular periods on this type of BC (not really sure why - maybe because it's more localized than the pill?). Anyway, I started Whole30 on Jan. 3rd and have basically been on my period ever since, and I am not "supposed" to start until next week. I've read lots of posts about hormonal weirdness during Whole30, but I can't seem to get the better of my tiredness, and I think it might be tied to the same hormonal weirdness that's causing my period issues. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you combat the tiredness? As a side note, I know that I'm not anywhere close to anemic, but it's sort of how I'm feeling right now. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks in advance! Rachel H.
  3. I'm on R1 D9. I take hormonal birth control to skip my period & I'm mid cycle on the pill right now. On Sunday (it's wed night now) I started my period and it's still going strong. I start school next week and am really hoping this stops before I start school. Does anyone know how long it takes fir your body to get used to the diet? Worst case scenario, if i eat dairy will my period stop?
  4. Hi everyone! I’m just looking for a little advice and any one who may be able to weigh in on what I’m going through! Let me preface this post by letting you know that I’m in my 20’s and I’ve never had any hormonal imbalances or issues with my mental health before in my life. Last year I started using birth control pills and about 6 months in I started feeling awful. I started to experience anxiety and depression, which I’ve never felt in my life. Because this was the only thing that had changed in my life over the last 6 months, I knew it must be the pills. I decided to stop in October and thought I might be in the clear. However, in November my body went nuts. I started experiencing panic attacks every day, very extreme depression, anxiety, constant nausea, shaking, heart palpitations, and rapid weight loss. I found out that some women experience these extreme side effects as their bodies are trying to learn how to work once they’ve stopped taking birth control. I had no idea! It has now been about five months since I stopped taking birth control and I’m definitely better than I was, but not completely healed. I am mostly left with anxiety, days where I just feel “off” or sad, and some mood swings. I see a naturopath and she suggested that I start Whole30. I’ve already done Whole30 twice before and have enjoyed it, but never have seen any difference in how I feel on it. However, this was before I experienced any of these hormonal/mental issues. I’m wondering if anyone out there has every been through anything similar or if anyone has any advice for me and how Whole30 could help me get back to my normal! Any tips on specific foods I should eat or avoid are welcome!
