Can using birth control - specifically an IUD with slow hormone release - affect the body's hormone imbalances written about in It Starts With Food? I have suspected that the IUD has affected my health for a couple of years, by increasing inflamation and allergy sensitivity. However, all of my doctors have waived off these questions like the IUD and my health issues could never be related. But then, I read the book, and I started thinking - if I'm going to do Whole30 for real, should I get rid of the added hormones in my body? Thank you for any insight you can offer.
Hi! This is my first Whole 30 and I'm 20 days in. I had surgery last month, so with exercising being limited, I wanted to make it a priority to eat healthier. Aside from ice cream and cheese + crackers, I usually eat pretty healthy (greens, nuts, fruit, little meat). I was hoping that this far into the program I'd feel some of the great side effects, but I don't have any more energy than when I started, and I haven't weighed, but my body looks the same if not more bloated than it did prior to starting the program.
