Hello! Day 31 here and this morning I reintroduced peanut butter. For breakfast I had 3 HB eggs, 1/2 avo, and celery with peanut better and raisins. The raisins have no additionally added sugar. I had about 6 3 inch pieces of celery and peanut butter went in. This was about 8:30am. Come 11:15am, headache! I had headaches in the first two weeks from what I assuming was a sugar detox. I entered this program for my love of sugar and horrible eating habits. The last two weeks they have been non-existent until today. I don't know a lot about peanuts. Do you think it's the actual peanut or added sugar? Wondering if it is beneficial to try and find peanut butter with no added sugar to narrow it down. I just had lunch - reintro for that was black beans with my deconstructed hamburger. This was just about 20 minutes ago. Thanks!
Okay so I just finished my whole 30 yesterday and I wanted to get right into reintroduction because I have had some undiagnosed sensitivity to food for the past 5 years and doctors have been unable to figure it out, so I wanted to do the reintroduction to see what sensitivities pop up. Wellll this morning I followed the protocol and had an apple with peanut butter in addition to my breakfast. I instantly felt bloated and sick. At lunch I had kidney beans with my salad and felt fine after. For dinner I forgot to add legumes so I just added in a banana and some peanut butter again. Again, I instantly felt completely ill, and my BM today have been uhhh completely wacko. Like how they used to be before whole 30. Is it possible that it's really been peanut butter/peanuts this whole time? I've never heard of someone having such a reaction to peanuts. Should I continue to try other legumes such as lentils or other types of beans to see if I react to other types of legumes? The kidney beans at lunch seemed okay. I would appreciate any input, or anyone else who had a similar experience. Thanks!
Hi! I am on day 5 of the Whole 30 and was wondering why Peanut butter is banned. I love peanut butter and see that you can have other nut butters but peanuts are specifically banned. Any advice on the why would be much appreciated! I think maybe I need to do more reading still - I kind jumped into this and am still catching up on figuring everything out Thanks!!
I finished my W30 on the 7th. I've been doing reintros since then. I did dairy first and didn't react. I did react to eggs (I was on AIP W30). A few hours after having eggs, the joint pain that disappeared 5 days into W30 returned. But nothing ele seemed to effect me, or so I thought. Even though dairy didn't seem to effect me the first day, I do think it is effecting me. After the one day intro, I went back to no dairy while doing the other reintros. I did find that I like coconut milk in my coffee as much as I like half and half, and I think for the most part, I will stick to it if I can (obviously when on vacation and eating out it will be hard to get coconut milk in my coffee). But yesterday I had some ice cream, haagen daaz chocolate peanut butter, one of my pre-W30 favorites. I now have a return of the joint pain (mostly likely from the peanut butter/legumes) and my post nasal drip returned. It had gotten better post W30, and did not get worse after the first reintro. So I do think I will continue to avoid dairy when possible. And no peanut butter.
