  2. Hello! I am on Day 15 and all of the cooking (+ chopping + food shopping) is wearing me down. I'm looking for more pre-packaged compliant food options at Costco, TJ's and Sprouts. I've dug up many Whole30 shopping lists, but some are several years old. I go hunting for the items, only to find that they are no longer stocked at Costco/TJ's. Anyone have any go-to suggestions for these stores? Please? Thanks in advance.     sausage + gluten

    Hi everyone! I searched (the many!) sausage related posts here but didn't find an exact answer to the question I'm looking for. I'm on day 11 of my Whole30, and at the beginning of this process I bought a package of sausage. I carefully checked the ingredients list to ensure it had no added sugar. It does have sodium erythorbate, but I read this from this forum before I bought it and made the executive decision that it was probably okay, in moderation. (I'm not eating 10 sausages at a time here, just cutting up one or two to use in something like a sausage/shrimp stirfry type thing which makes several servings.) But yesterday I was talking to a friend and she asked what I was having for supper. I sent her the link to the recipe (which included sausage) and she said that pretty much all sausage contains gluten as a filler, and shouldn't that be a hard no on Whole30? I had no answer for her, and immediately thought "oh man, did I just screw up hard enough to have to start over?" I'm concerned enough about that that I made an account on this forum just to ask - do I have to start over because my sausage wasn't expressly listed as 'gluten free?' (There were no grains etc listed on the ingredient list) I thought I was pretty confident in the rules etc but now I just feel like I might've messed the whole thing up LOL. Help. Thank you!
  5. I have purchased a Perderson's Natural Farms Smoked Sausage from my local grocery store. While it has no sugar in the ingredients, it does not show up on their website as "Whole30 Approved". The Smoked Sausage Kielbasa listed on their page does say it is Whole30 Approved, but I cannot find this Smoked Sausage (non-Kielbasa) product anywhere on their website. Does anyone have any experience with this sausage?

    I found Teton Waters Ranch 100% grassfed beef polish sausage at Costco... I can't see any reason why it's not whole30...

    Too much sausage?

    I finished my Whole 30 a few weeks ago and am trying to maintain the basic guidelines. I have found the 2 easiest (and well-paired) proteins to be sausage and eggs... The sausage I buy is always Whole30 compliant, but most of my life, I've thought sausage was "very unhealthy." Is that an old wives tale? If I'm limiting other damaging foods like grains, sugar, dairy, then am I fine? Or should I be limiting how much I eat sausage as my protein (to 1-2x a week, for example)? Thank you!

    Breakfast Meats...

    I know that I am going to get sick of eggs pretty quickly... I already am, so I need a few other breakfast options that are going to get me through the 30 days! Every single bacon I have looked at contains sugar, same with sausages. I am not the type to have something dinner-like for breakfast, and simply cannot wrap my mind around that. It seems there are a lot of people eating sausages and bacons, and turkey bacons in their Whole 30 - have they found sugar-free options, or is this some sort of rule people are by-passing? Help! I live in Canada, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi everyone, I'm on day 5 of my first Whole30 (wow, already day 5!) and have found that in order to stay full all the way to lunch I have been having 3 whole eggs and one hand-made sausage with the ingredients being ground pork and seasonings only. I tend to eat breakfast at 7:30 and have lunch at 12:30. I don't eat any fruit in the morning, because it's too sweet for me that early. It's sooo good, and I'll probably have some variation of this every morning (like avocados and compliant salsa!), but I wanted to make sure I wasn't going overboard.
