Israa
Hi I started my first Whole30 on April 27, 2013 right after I finished reading the book. I'm into my third week now and it's getting better by the day. Discovered this forum a bit late and just wanted to commit. Thanks
Kirsteen
Hi, welcome Israa, glad you're doing so well. I know it's a bit late but if you've got any questions feel free to ask.
Israa
Thanks! I finished my Whole30 about two weeks ago and I was somewhat disappointed in the results. I didn't lose any weight on the scale or inches around any part of my body. I felt good. I was really happy to finish it..felt like a really big accomplishment and milestone. I was also very happy that now I can say I don't need to eat wheat or grains again and will be okay letting that go forever. It really helped me establish good eating habits and understand how important it is to eat a good amount of nutrients throughout the day. As I thankfully do not have any medical conditions, I had a hard time evaluating my results and the effect it has on my body. The main difference I noticed was in my facial skin. I do not have acne but it was definitely more clear and glowing. Besides that I didn't see any other noticeable changes in my body. In fact, all my clothes seems to be a bit tighter and more uncomfortable to wear. I feel an intense emotion to just binge on chocolate which is what I used to do before. I want to try it again for another month..maybe I need a bit more time. I am not sure. Do you have any insights as to why results may take longer for some people versus others? I really want this to work for me.
Kirsteen
Hi Israa, I'm glad you feel you're skin's glowing and that you've obviously developed a good relationship with food from having done your W30. Results do vary for people, some of us, I'm one of them, take longer than others to get results we want. W30 is designed to nourish our bodies but our bodies have their own prioriyies and that doesn't always coincide with ours. There's a really good article here http://whole9life.com/2012/10/six-reasons-why-the-whole30-didnt-work-for-you/ I don't need to tell you that bingeing on chocolate won't actually make anything any better I would agree with carrying on with your W30 as you suggested. My first W30 was actually a W60. Without knowing what you're actually eating, it's impossible to offer specific advice, so if you carry on but still feel you're not getting the results you want, then you can always post a food log and see if we can give you more help with it. Good luck and keep in touch
