Whole30 + egg allergy = :(

So, I'm allergic to eggs.

Not all eggs. Not baked into stuff or even on French toast. Just straight up eggs (hard boiled, fried, scrambled, egg-whites only, etc). And eggs are like a giant part of the whole 30 that I have to miss out on.

I'm pretty lost on what to have for breakfast without them. I've been eating a banana and some cashews and almonds in a weird salad thing that I like ok (I'm only on day 2). But it doesn't keep me full. I suppose I could throw some pork or turkey in there but that never seems to sound appetizing at 7am.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks :)

quickest non egg, filling, breakfast I can think of is ground meats with veggies. I try to keep some precooked on hand all the time to make breakfast easier, I just reheat it with some coconut oil.

If you do a search for Auto Immune Protocol on the forums you could find a lot of egg free food tips. Good luck!

Well....I am on Day 51 and I've had maybe 2 eggs total the entire 51 days. I suspect an issue with them so i really tried to eliminate. I have chicken sausage with kale in coconut oil quite often for breakfast. Or leftovers....I had meatza pie yesterday for breakfast. There are lots of things if you search around.

I'm starting the AI protocol so am having to give up eggs :-( I'm usually a fan of ground pork mixed with green veg and heated together for breakfast but since our weather is turning a bit warmenr (at last) I've sort of gone off that. I find I'm veering much more towards cold food for breakfast at the moment, salads, raw veg, cooked chicken and above all fish, smoked mackeral, sardines, cold salmon etc.

I'm doing the Whole 30 without eggs, too. My husband is participating, too.

Here's what we've done for breakfast: combine cooked cubed sweet potato or butternut squash or spaghetti squash with chopped or ground meat, chopped sauteed greens, onion, and garlic (and any other veg you like). Stir in a can of coconut milk and/or ghee. Season with salt and whatever spices you like (love curry powder). Put everything on 9x11 casserole dish, cover with foil and heat in 325 degree oven for about 20 min. To meld flavors.

Cool for about 20-30 min. on counter in the dish. Stick it in fridge. Makes about 6 servings for us. Hubby adds eggs or avocado for more calories. I add hot sauce to mine. I find the spice garam masala also seems pretty "breakfast-y" if you are freaked out about savory breakfast food. You can mix your own- just google it :)

chocolate chili from the book "well fed" is so good it will make you forget eggs ever existed! i like it warmed over a bed of raw baby spinach, and have had it for breakfast mixed in with cut up veggies (steamed and/or raw). i was a bit nervous the first time i made it i halved the recipe. this weekend, the full recipe.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have an egg sensitivity. I'm on Day 33 without consuming any eggs. I ate the pre W30 but wanted to give my body a rest so that I can really tet for sensitivity. I take my breakfast to the office and eat at 7:30. My go to is a ground pork patty and sautéed cabbage. If I exercise before work, I add 1/2 of a sweet potato. I basically eat any dinner leftovers for breakfast.

I can't really tolerate eggs either. I typically have leftovers from the night before. Or I make myself a breakfast hash with either sweet potatoes or plantains along with some onion, red peppers and some type of meat whether it be bacon or sausage. It's delicious and filling!
