Two - 2gl and 1gl jars. This time I had 13 bottles, but I had some of this booch plain today and saved 2 cups for next brew. Should come to a 1,5 gl total. I think so.

Btw, booch is my Daddy's best friend now. Due to nasty chemo it's the only thing he can drink. His scoby is gigantic. We joke that one day Dad will have to start brewing in bathtub.

Oh I need bigger containers. I am going back to continuous brew but so 1.5 gallon, but I think I need two. Or..I will do some CB and batch.

So cute about your dad. Is your mom liking it? My mom wont touch it.

Duuh tapatalk. Mom? Yes she will love it...if I put a several tablespoons of sugar in it :D Since Dad is a sugar police now, she doesn't drink it.

All is bottled. All is covered in tape (my table and fingers included). My second scoby says hi. Goodnight all the brewers.

Lol..how much are you drinking?

CB is cool. You take 25% out and put 25% sweet tea back in and its ready again in a day or two. Very low maintenance. You don't mess with the scoby except when you clean the container 3 times a year or you want to take babies.

Holy cow. Okay, I'm in. It took me 2 days to read this whole thread! I'm a booch addict and tired of paying $4/bottle. My hubby just happened to drink a 4 pack of Grolsch this weekend, so the preparations have begun. Stay tuned...

Yay megmac. Join the craze.

Susan, let's put it this way, I drink it whenever I want. I don't think it comes to more than couple bottles a day. It really helps me to settle my stomach and you know it's been rough lately. Excuses. Excuses.

Whee, another one into the fold!  Nice for me to have some more newbies to play with!

Meg save your kombucha bottles too. They work great if they have a screw on lid. :)

I like those GT bottles you guys have, are they glass?  They have nice wide necks.

My saved bottles only hold about 325 ml (11oz) and have narrow necks like so ...

Oh well, they will have to do!

Sophie, I love you. Taco scoby. You are hilarious :D

My hard working scoby says hi from the booch factory aka kitchen.

Why thank you - credit to Frank though, it was his idea.

Your SCOBY looks huge!  High expectations and mega pressure on Frank now. :)

Nadia, no harm in a couple a day. I was a one but sometimes two a day until I had my unfortunate death of the SCOBY experience.

Moluv, Booch Porn. Perfect.

Sophie, you just get to drink more bottles. ;0) You will be able to get your flavorings in by squishing them. I do that just to get more of the flavors dispursed. Tell Frank that tacos are my favorite food so I appreciate his SCOBY art.

For Susan, from Frank:

Big green is pretty!  Jealous of thick, spongy looking SCOBYs.  Frank still looking a bit thin and fuzzy, even all submerged in liquid.  I guess he is a yeast magnet.

Nadia, if your dad starts brewing in the bath it's time to open a real Booch Factory :)

I love all the brewing photos. One day I'll get a big jar and start a scoby :)

Where did the Aussies get their starting scoby? or did you just use booch? I wonder if I could use the booch from the market.

I have to burp it sometimes, would it work?

I grew my SCOBY from a 325 ml store bought bottle of Mojo kombucha.  You said your kombucha was homemade by a lady at the markets, right?  If so, I imagine that would work!

You should do it!  (Says the girl who hasn't even tasted her first batch yet!) :)  Will give you control over the sweetness and it's just really fun.  Even if I hate mine I will have no regrets as the process has been so fascinating.

Ha ha, I couldn't say as there's no kitty here :( but it smells pretty sour which would probably be off-putting and you cover it tightly with cloth anyway so you'd probably be safe from rogue cat hair.

Mine just sits on the countertop in the kitchen.  Apparently on top of the fridge is a good place but I don't have enough space between the top of my fridge and the bottom of the shelf over it.

I had a glass of mine this morning, out the garden, in a crystal glass. If the neighours saw me they must have thought I was one of those moms.

Not as sparkling as when I bottled it :( why is that? I left it overnight in dark and then put in fridge this morning. Maybe it was so bubby because it had just been transferred. Still pleasantly effervescent & a lovely flavour.

Lolz Derval!!!  I love to drink my booch out of my wine glasses too, sitting on the front porch, the neighbors must think I'm a lush.

My baby mama Hazel is actually floating under her babies as she was grown in a much smaller container than the ones I use.  I have 2, 2 gallon containers each holding just over a gallon of booch.  They are on continuous rotation so I can bottle every week getting about 12-14 16 oz bottles.  I keep meaning to buy some pretty blue ones but I I have so many GT's and Grolsch bottles I can't justify it!

I haven't really figured out the picture thing yet but when I do I will post some.  I am so glad to have found this thread, I find booch talk titillating (and no one else I know will drink it, much less talk about it)!

Just a quick poll, Batch or CB or both?  Trying to decide if I should invest in a CB container :)

I must admit that I'm struggling with the grossout factor.  As someone who suffered a lifetime of yeast infections (until my first W30!) I am working past the irony of growing this stuff on purpose.

:)
