nickyticky01
Hello I just joined today. My co-worker told me about the whole9 last week I have been doing research and I really like what I have been reading. I have been struggling with my weight my whole life. I just had my daughter she is 19 months and now I am the biggest I have ever been. I have tried many diets to help loose weight but nothing seemed to be working. I discovered the whole9 and seems like something that will be a life style change and will be good for me to change my eating habits for myself and my family. I love all the recipes I have found. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make cauliflower mashed potatoes that follows the whole9. Anyone have any helpful tips to keep on track? my biggest weakness is sweets. Thank you
KJT
Well Fed has an excellent recipe. Honestly, just buy the cookbook. I live by it. There are a couple of recipes that aren't to my taste (because she likes her food a lot spicier than I do) but I have never had a failure cooking out of it. Welcome to our adventure! percypat
Hello! I'm nearing the end of my first Whole 30, here are my tips ... * Plan as much as you can. If you know what you're having for your next meal and have the food in the house you'll be more likely to stay on course. * Use the forums! Everyone is nice and helpful and knows what you're going through. Awesome place to ask for help if you're not sure about something, or to have a rant about something. Start a food log for accountability. * Follow the template. I didn't get this the first couple of days, and after it was pointed out that I was way off with my breakfast I realised what a difference it made. If you follow the template you'll be less likely to want to snack. Big big help Best of the luck on your journey! Looking forward to hearing how it's going
birder
You can totally do this! I just finished day 26. I really feel good. It is so worth it! By biggest weekness is sweets also. I've been eating paleoish for a year but I could not control my sugar. But this year I lost weight I've been battling for 10 years. But more than that I am healthy! Here is what helped me: -Plan and cook a lot at a time. The crock pot is your new best friend -Mentally prepare yourself for anything comming up you will struggle with ( I've made through 2 spagetti dinners, 3 potlucks, 4 receptions with almost no compliant foods) -Prepare yourself for doubt. Either from others when they tell you what you are doing is not healthy or yourself when you wonder if you will make it. Read It Starts With Food for the info to back yourself up. -Always have something with you to eat in case you get caught up and can't eat what you planned. Tuna , nuts(raw unsalted so I stop eating them) carrots travel well. (This has gotten much easier, I don't crash like I used to) - most of all set your goal and believe you can do it. If you mess up decide what you can learn from it and just get back to it. It really feels so good.
