You can keep taking all your vitamins and supplements as long as they are not packaged with off-plan ingredients like soy, dairy, or sugar.

Now is a good time to review what you are taking and you might be interested in these articles for some guidance:

I am glad you asked about supplements, because I was concerned about calcuim. I know it is important to get enough as I am in my mid-fifties...and do not want to deal with bone loss. SO...since I am not doing my one glass of calcium fortified almond milk, one cup of nonfat plain yogurt and one stick of fat-free mozzeralla cheese...I have to get it somewhere. I would have to eat a lot of spinach and kale (I think) to get enough calcium. However, I should check on this because maybe a cup of kale will supply me for the day.

You know, honestly, with my looking at 30 days (could be more...but starting with the idea of a Whole30)...I'm almost inclined to not even worry about my multivitamins, my calcium supp and my vit D supp....because when I looked at all the ingredients (I use Visalus Vi-Pak which is a packet in the a.m. and a packet in the p.m. with lots of stuff...although they list the ingredients....I don't know if I feel confident that there is not something in there that is NOT Whole30 compliant. They state that the vitamins do not have yeast, preservatives, wheat, corn or milk...but who knows if color or additives or olls that are not Whole30 compliant...plus there is flax and I thought I read somewhere no flax seeds. And, the BIO-K probiotic drink I have been taking for 2 weeks is the fermented rice variety...so my guess it is out due to rice. So....for me, I think I am going to skip my multivitamin packets, calcium supp, Vit D supp and BIO-K probotic for these first 30 days June 1 - 30...and only take my blood pressure med (benicar) and cholesterol med (vytorin)....and then re-evaluate after my Whole30. I had a dr appt scheduled to check choleserol and bloood pressure on June 5...but I pushed it out to July 15 so I could do my Whole30 first...then get my blood/lab work done. I just want to eat as "clean" and as Whole30 compliant as possible during my official Whole30...don't want to take chances...want to be safe vs sorry or "I didn't realize this had X in it". (:

I stopped taking all supplements during my first W30 and never looked back. I try to take fish oil regularly and I take enzymes while I am on a W30.

Hi, I'm on day 7 and had forgotten to check the ingredients in my Jarrow Co-Q10.  Unfortunately...

Other Ingredients

Soy lecithin, medium chain glycerides (MCGs) and gamma tocopherol. Softgel consists of gelatin, glycerin and water. Caramel and carob extract (added as a light barrier).

Just double-checked all my supplements, and a couple others have some soy derivatives.    Is it necessary to start over?  I don't mind adding an extra week.  I probably would do so anyway, but wanted to know how impactful these little bits of bad stuff are.

Also what about red yeast rice - is that an allowable supplement?

Doing great other than this stuff.  Thanks!!
