GFChris
Looking at a recipe in the Paleo Comfort Foods cookbook for Chicken Breasts with Mushroom Sauce. The recipe is not Whole30 compliant, as it contains 1/4 c dry sherry. Is there a Whole30 substitute for dry sherry, or should I just omit it, and add an additional 1/4 c chicken stock to accommodate the equivalent liquid amount? (One of the other ingredients is 3/4 c chicken stock.)I haven't cooked this much in years, and have been getting back into cooking since starting my Whole30 10 days ago. I'm a bit out of practice, so appreciate any advice.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 7, 2013 I might add a splash of apple cider vinegar to brighten things up in place of the sherry.
carolinaBlue
I use a little orange juice. Probably not the full 1/4 c but maybe a couple of tablespoons. The bite of the citrus mimics the dryness of the sherry.
