Soylent
Dunno if this is an odd question - but before I started the Whole30, I had rendered some fat for cooking from a slab of bacon that was uncured but had sugar on the ingredient list. While I know I should not eat bacon with sugar, is the rendered (and filtered) fat off limits as well? Does that sugar stay in the rendered fat? Thanks!! Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2012 The amount of sugar that would come through with the rendered fat would be small, but the Whole30 is not about reducing added sugar, it's about eliminating it completely. I'd say, save that fat for when you are not doing a Whole30. Disclaimer: I have no idea how long rendered fat remains good. Maybe you need to give it away. karacooks
You can freeze fat and it'll do just fine. If you decide not to risk it, just put it in the freezer until you're done with your Whole30.
