arthritis pain - what aggravates for you?

Recommended Posts

HI  there everyone -

I am on DAY 29 (yay) of my first Whole30 and have noticed some great improvements in energy and in my arthritis pain levels.( I have osteo arthritis)

However, the pain is not gone, although it is better. What have you noticed foodwise that aggravate arthritis and joint pain? I do eat cashews, almonds and pistacio nuts...some tomatoes... any ideas out there of food that might be problematic?

thank you!!

Julie

Congrats on making it through the challenge!  :)   It's great that you have noticed a difference in your arthritis!  I have Rheumatoid and around day 8 of my W30, the knee pain I had for over 6 months went away!  However, I still had flare-ups in my hands.  I didn't really pay too much attention to what was eating to see if that cause the flares....guess I should go back to my log and see if I can figure it out.  <_<

You could try doing an Auto-Immune Protocol challenge as it eliminates nuts, nightshades (tomatoes, peppers...), ghee...Once you start adding those back in, you can see if they affect your arthrtis.  I haven't been eating nuts or tomatoes recently and I'm kinda scared to add them back in in case they do cause flare-ups. Now Ghee, that's another story!  Must have it even if I can't walk or use my hands!  :D

Hi there -

I started feeling better around day 15 -- my hands were stronger/less pain -- but I have been having flare up...I think it may be tomatoes?? Or maybe it's just a flare up? (Btw, I felt pretty yucky the first ten days...)

I do feel better yet I wonder if I can expect no pain, but more manageable pain. Compared to how I felt earlier in the year, it's dramatic.

I will try the auto-immune protocol as suggested... Keep on with this regarding your fibromyalgia! Good luck and thank you both for your replies.
