Rusty13
Sugar dragon got me. Got takeout and stayed compliant for dinner but couldnt pass up the soft serve ice cream. Ended up getting and eating a small cone. It is actually frozen custard so delicious and pretty hard to pass up. Did so well the rest of the day, too. Ugh, guess I need to start over unfortunately. Positive part is no adverse reactions to the dairy. I have been off it almost a month. (I dont get it that often.) So that is my confession for today. kew
I have started asking myself "do I want to break my streak?" rather than "do I want that chocolate/wine/cheese?" While the answer to the second question is always YES!, the answer to the second so far has remained, "actually, no, I don't want to break my streak," and that seems to help bolster a positive feeling of resistance. Maybe something similar would work for you.
Rusty13
I think it would because after I ate it the sugar crash came later and I thought to myself "Was it really worth it? I shouldnt really be having sugar anyways, I am prediabetic. Pretty dumb of me, actually. Anyways, I am back on track and had scrambled eggs with shredded carrots, sliced onions, green peppers and grape tomatoes sauteed in EVOO then the eggs scrambled into the pan. It was really good! Guest
I used a similar tactic. I told myself that I needed the full 30 days to get to clean reintros. So, it would mess up my hard work to go off-plan. I also started thinking of fuel and treats. On-plan food is fuel and off-plan food is a treat. For the purpose of the 30 days, treats became not food. So, I told myself that those choices were not food. I love your attitude. It makes sense that people in today's world will be drawn to the non-food, once-in-a-while, treats. Getting right back on is the best and your breakfast combo sounds fun.
Rusty13
I had a success today. Was out during lunch time and bought a compliant meat jerky and a small bag of nuts to tide me over. I bought some dried fruit to keep on hand if I get hungry on the road and the sweet tooth tries to take over. Next time it happens I will buy some jerky, eat a few prunes and a handful of cashews and I should be okay like I was today. The prunes taste surprisingly sweet now, almost like candy but they are full of fiber and are fruit so they are healthier than ice cream. It worked this time so I may have dodged another bullet. Now I am going to get started on dinner because it is 5:00 and I am beginning to get hungry again. Something with hamburger tonight. Dont know exactly what yet but I am going to start cutting up vegetables now.
