Getting Sick- Day 25

Recommended Posts

I am on day 25 of the Whole 30. The first couple weeks were GREAT. I had energy, I was eating well, I was enjoying everything. The past few days, I haven't been feeling all that great. I'm exhausted and sluggish, when I sleep I become DEAD to the world (which never happened before). I'm starting to break out again (which had cleared up during my first 2 weeks). I haven't pooped well in a LONG time. Yesterday I came home flushed and nauseous, I could barely drive myself home. I did accidentally eat sugar the past two days, though (seriously, who puts sugar in COLE SLAW (not mayo based, made with olive oil), and they dipped my sweet potatoes in powdered sugar (horrible people)). It was only a couple bites before I caught it and stopped it. I'm so far in. But I'm physically weak and I can't function. I've also started my period like a week early (I'm on birth control for PCOS, so that should never happen). I can function for a few hours at a time, but then I get tired. I've even been adding more vegetables to my diet (I'm not a veggie person, but I've been eating my salad!). I really don't know what to do or what I'm doing wrong. Could it really be the three bites total of sugar I had that's making me feel so miserable?

I doubt the sugar has anything to do with the tiredness you are describing. And you might simply be getting sick. Eating good can't stop all sickness.

To troubleshoot what might be wrong, we would need a lot more information... What you are eating for several days with specifics about amounts. Exercise, activities, changes in your life, stress, sleep environment, etc.

Eating... Okay, let me try. Usually for breakfast I have 2 eggs and bacon (straight from the butcher, no preservatives or sugar, just smoked) and a tomato or salsa. BUT the past 4 or 5 days, I woke up totally not hungry. I made myself drink a homemade juice so I'd have some energy, but I couldn't stomach anything else. Lunch and dinner are usually homemade things. Last week we had chicken soup with lots of vegetables. A few times I had a salad with olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Some grilled chicken. Friday night and Saturday afternoon, I met people for lunch. Both times I had a plain burger, no bun or sauce, well done with grilled onions. Saturday for dinner, we had this pork stew type thing where you slow cook the pork with onions and water and paprika. I had Lara bars as snacks and on the go for work. I went through about a pint of blueberries and half a pound of strawberries. Maybe 3 peaches. I don't measure what I eat, I just tried eating the approved foods. I also don't exercise. I've been working more the past few weeks, but I'm used to that. I've been sleeping 6-8 hours a night (not counting the naps of the past few days). The only reason I'm still awake now is because I was woken up by my cat, normally I sleep through the night.
