Tallulah Wolf-Angel
Hi Everyone, This is Day 19 of W30 for me. Have been having pretty textbook experience so far. One thing I noticed that no one has mentioned (that I could find) in the forums: Starting in Week 2, I noticed that after washing my hair, hardly any loose hairs are in the hair catcher that we keep in the bathtub drain. Up until W30, I always lost a little skein of hairs on hair-washing day--not a lot, but always a noticeable bunch of strands that had to be cleaned out of the catcher. I have read that this is a normal phenomenon. So why would fewer hairs be falling out now? I'm not complaining but just would like to know why a change to a paleo diet would cause this to happen. Thanks for any insights!
MrsStick
Perhaps you have nothing to detox? I am finally off my meds 95% from my shoulder surgery. Even when I was just taking tylenol a couple times a day, I lost scads of hair. Enough that my hairdresser mentioned it at my last appointment. Since then, I cut myself off almost cold turkey and I've noticed a difference. Much less hair comes out (unless I skip a day or two).
Tallulah Wolf-Angel
Thanks, MrsStick! Perhaps it is a liver thing. I have heard that Tylenol is hard on your liver. I take methotrexate for my RA, which is also hard on the liver, but since going on W30 it doesn't make me sick like it used to, probably because my poor liver isn't having to cope with the drugs PLUS tons of sugar at the same time. Geez, I am learning a bunch by doing this W30
EileenRBe
Tallulah, I noticed this the second week of my W30 in January. I've stayed pretty close to W30 since finishing, and the hair loss is a good indicator of reintroductions to not continue. After having corn and corn tortillas last week the hair mat reappeared. It doesn't happen if I have a little dairy. I'm taking Tylenol and Sudafed for a bad cold, so it'll be interesting to see if it happens again. PS. I love your name.
