And the truth is revealed

Today is the start of my day 32.  I decided I was going to keep going  to make it to day 45, take a couple weeks and go to a paleo, then flip back into another Whole 30.  Today was my day of reveal.  I decided to weigh myself and take my measurements.  Drum roll please.  In 30 days I lost 7 lbs (not bad), but more impressive is the fact that I lost 15 inches (not that's a Wow).    I lost three inches off my waist and 2 1/2 off my hips. What is more exciting about this for me is that my only exercise during this first Whole 30 was basically walking three times a week.  I was so tired most of the time I could not manage to complete a crossfit class during this 30 days.   My energy is up, but not tiger like, but I am hoping to go back to crossfit.

While I never got the tiger energy everyone raves about, I feel better than I have in a long time.  I have insulin resistance and sugar has never been my friend.  I have not fought the sugar demon as bad as I thought.  At first it was kind of bad, but then, I found other ways to get natural.  I added some fruit and vegetables to my water. I would freeze grapes and then use them as ice cubes in my water.  As they defrosted, I got some grape flavoring in my water.  I would do the same kind of thing with lemons, limes and oranges.  I also discovered I liked cucumber in my water especially in the afternoon when it was hot and normally I would have wanted a coke.

I am continuing on at least for another 13 days before I take a break for two weeks then will start again.  Would love some support for these next 13 days.  Any suggestions on how to kick up the energy are always appreciated.

BTW:  The sleep has been incredible.  I am going to sleep without fail at 10 pm and waking up without the alarm clock at 5:45 am.  It is crazy silly how wierd this feel.

Congrats on your progress and thanks for sharing your story with us! I like how you see your journey as a continuum rather than a straight line to "success" somewhere at the end of your W30. You've made strides and I appreciate how you see that there are still areas to improve (e.g. energy levels, getting back to crossfit, etc.).

As you work toward reintroducing some foods to your diet after your W30, you might find that something you couldn't have the last month helps with your energy levels -- perhaps not, though. Good luck the next few weeks! I hope you continue to feel well and sleep soundly.
