margaretabrinson
Hi there, I had a thought I was hoping to get some further insight on re: the reintroduction phase of the Whole30. I just tested gluten this morning with a bagel, and had a fairly immediate rushed trip to the bathroom after. I had a similar experience with half and half on day 1 when I reintroduced dairy. So my initial thought was that maybe I have been intolerant to these foods all along, but what is the chance that my body would simply react negatively because it's no longer used to processing those foods? Kind of in the way that a person who never eats vegetables would have some digestive issues at the beginning of their Whole30, even though they're not allergic to vegetables and vegetables are good for them, the body is simply not used to processing that food. Thanks!
ldmd
I don't think our bodies become unaccustomed to processing foods after 30 days away from them. I had a similar reaction the other day when I had my first cup of milk after doing a Whole60. I concluded that it was my body telling me it doesn't like dairy. I was so uncomfortable that I decided not to try to reintroduce yogurt, cheese, etc. and will just assume that I don't tolerate dairy well. Good luck with the rest of your reintroductions! Physibeth
If someone continuously pokes you in the arm over and over and over again you eventually stop feeling it. That is why it is necessary to remove food groups for 30+ days to see if you actually react. Over time and exposure your body numbs.
