AshNicole
Now that my 30th birthday week (yes, I celebrated for a week) is over, I feel like now is as good of a time as ever to start eating right. I tried the Whole30 in February but some time around day 10 I found my little cheats (a couple Dove chocolates here, some Popchips there) were basically turning into my old habits. So why today? Why not, really? Since I graduated college 8 years ago, my weight has escalated. I've followed pretty much every tip one can find in women's health magazines and despite exercising 4 times a week on the regular, nothing changes. I figured out almost 4 years ago how I (ME, and not anyone else) lose weight: eating less than 500 calories a day. I went from 152 lbs to 127 in a month and a half. I hardly exercised (didn't have the energy), ate poorly, drank too much, barely slept, was a basket case from the anxiety of the situation I was in, and developed high blood pressure. Sure, my body looked good and I fit into clothes I hadn't worn in 5+ years but I knew this wasn't a sustainable and healthy diet. For about 2 years, I maintained +/- 133 lbs and functioned like a normal 26-28 year old trying to watch what I ate and drinking occassionally. I met the greatest man in the world 1.5 years ago and couldn't be happier. He's often times my running buddy and workout partner, however, we both love food, dining out and cocktails. Today I'm 148 lbs. My pants don't fit like they use to. I don't feel confident in most of my clothes. I don't feel attractive or sexy. My self esteem is terribly low. I could take a nap every day but I can't sleep very well at night. I NEED to do this today or I will never do it. Day 1 has been easy and I need to find the momentum to keep me going past Day 10. If anyone has suggestions for very simple meals for someone that has very little time or patience for cooking, I'd love to hear them. I also enjoy reading/seeing how this lifestyle has changed people, especially in the first 30 days. If anyone likes holding people accountable, grill me on what I've been eating in about 5 days. Alohachic
Good luck!! I'm on day 2. Here is an easy breakfast: Cook ground turkey(or whatever meat u prefer) Cut up a red bell pepper. Mix the 2 in a bowl. Put muffin liners in muffin pan. Fill about half full with meat/pepper mixture. Beat 12 eggs. Add salt and pepper. Pour egg mix on top of meat/pepper mix. Don't fill too full though. Bake at 350 for 20-25 min. Reheat in microwave for 30 sec each morning.
