Couple questions

Hello everyone. I started my whole 30 on monday and last night one of my friends that I haven't seen in a while (because of our varying schedules, we haven't been able to hang out) asked if I would be interested in going out with a group of friends this friday night (which is day 5 of my whole 30).

Since I'll be staying over my friends house, I was wondering what I should pack/bring with me to keep myself compliant for the night, I have decided that I will say that I'll  be designated driver and sip seltzer with lemon/lime slices while everyone else drinks. Does anyone have any recommendations to slay my alcohol consuming dragon while out other than what I've already said?

Thanks :)

Are you just going out for drinks or is it drinks and dinner?

On the drink part, that sounds like a good approach.

If you're having dinner at this place, if possible, find out where you're going beforehand, review the menu online, and pick some possible entrees that look compliant as is, or can be relatively easily tweaked. Call the restaurant and ask all the right questions to settle on a compliant entree.

Regarding sleeping over your friend's, for breakfast in the morning, I would bring a couple hard boiled eggs, maybe a red and green pepper, a compliant fat to cook them in. If you'd like something hot in the morning, bring coffee or compliant herbal tea.

hmm....I don't have an issue not drinking, so i'd just stick to water easily. do you think the friends will question your choices and pressure you into having a drink? being the designated driver is a great tactic, and would probably be appreciated by the others :)

definitely find out if you're going somewhere to eat before going to the bars. investigate the restaurant, find out if you can get something to suit - if not, perhaps meet the friends out after dinner?
