bnlauren
So.....everything is going great except for (sorry folks) diarrhea......I started on June 3rd and have noticed since the last few days of my Whole30 I've been having softer stool which is now pretty much diarrhea. My usual diet consist of 3 eggs with onions in the morning, banana and almond butter, black grapes, chicken or beef and some veggie like broccoli, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, etc. I'm not eating many nuts and when I cook my chicken and eggs they're always cook with coconut oil....spray can for eggs and spooned out of a jar for chicken. 90% of them time I'm eating my food cooked in coconut oil. Could this be the reason for my diarrhea? I'm wondering if I added it too my diet to quickly but not sure. Any help is appreciated!
amandapandatm
In "It Starts With Food", they say that in the first week it's normal to have diarrhea or constipation, this is what happened to me the first couple days of whole30.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 11, 2013 I get diarrhea as often as once per month. I don't know why. I speculate about a stomach bug, not washing all the dirt off vegetables from the farm, eating a bug that I did not find while cleaning chard or kale, etc. If I take any kind of anti-diarrhea medicine in the house, that generally stops it and I don't have another episode for weeks. I know lots of people want to do things "naturally," but I encourage trying some generic anti-diarrhea medicine and see if that doesn't fix things for you. Bet
You could try eliminating the onions and broccoli. They are FODMAPS and know to trigger D in IBS and Chron's sufferers.
