whole30forme
1st Day! Breakfast: It didn't happen. Got up too late. Lunch. It DID happen. 4 Romaine lettuce leafs with tomatoes, onions, deli beef, deli turkey, olive oil. Watermelon salad (small amount but need to go smaller next time) (watermelon, canteloupe, cucumbers, cilantro, red onion, mangos). Snack: Munched on some celery, broccoli, had hot unsweetened tea and 2 16 oz glasses water. Also had a few raspberries. Also a handful of sugar snap peas. Snack: About 20 almonds (probably too many I'm guessing?) Dinner: It's cooking. Baked sweet potatoes, baked summer squash. Tilapia with flaxseed/lemon. How am I doing? I'm very new at this!! GFChris
Make sure you eat breakfast the remaining 29 days. Make sure you deli meat and turkey are compliant. Snacks should be a mini meal including at least a protein and fat. Avoid having just fruit or just nuts or just veggies for a snack.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 17, 2013 I'm betting you are not eating nearly enough. When you reported lunch starting with 4 lettuce leaves and went on to say that you probably should have served less watermelon salad, you raised a red flag for me. The Whole30 is not a calorie-restriction approach to eating. You have to eat meaningful portions of nutritious foods to support good health and when you do that, your weight adjusts to a healthy level. Review the meal template again and make sure you eat enough: http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf When you are eating enough food at meals, you should find that you don't need snacks.
