IdaN
I am on day 17 of my Whole30, and I was doing so well, until today. In a weak moment I went for a grilled chicken thigh at lunch today. Now I realize it had glucose in it, sunflower/canola oil PLUS E451, E262 and E325. This is pretty bad, right?
Roz Griffiths
Yup, but could have been worse - maybe add an extra day or few onto the end of your Whole30?
GFChris
I think glucose was the only real culprit. Sunflower/canola are not banned on the W30 (because of dining out options), but you don't want to use them in your home cooking. The E-numbers appear to be various forms of salt. Chalk it up to a big lesson learned about the importance of reading labels before you eat something, and I agree - add a day or two onto your Whole30. IdaN
Thanks, it's good to know that some E' aren't all bad. I will add some extra days, although I am considering going Whole50 anyway.
