Celina
Hi out there, I'd love some support, suggestions, encouragement. My husband and I are on day 13 of w30. I didn't have any of expected headaches or cravings or anything until today. Today I was so distracted by the smell of a co-workers roadside-stand hamburger that I had to keep commenting on it. Today was also the first day that I felt tempted by junk food at the grocery store. I'm not so worried that I will cave and eat something I shouldn't but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Does anyone have thoughts on why this might be happening now? I'm also all of a sudden getting ravenous again. (I might be eating a bit too little b/c I also do crossfit and keeping up with all the food prep is hard). In general I'm feeling better--sleeping more soundly, wake more refreshed, etc. ANy thoughts?
GFChris
The good news is, you're right where you're supposed to be, per the W30 timeline: http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/ The article at the link suggests journaling, jotting down how you're feeling and what tools you're using to work through the cravings. If you think you might be eating too little, increase your fat portions and starchy veggies. Take a look at the meal template to also confirm your pre and post workout snacks are compliant: http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf
Celina
Thanks! Yea, I think that my husband and I are doing well in that we aren't eating the "no-no" foods but keeping up with all the proportions, quantities, and just-right post-WO food is hard for both of us. I was late for work today and so grabbed whatever baby kale we had, two hardboiled eggs, a carrot and a red bell pepper and that was my lunch. Arg. jillian
I almost always have cravings when I'm not eating enough. Eat more! And yes, it is perfectly normal to have cravings on day 13. They'll likely flare up again before your Whole30 is complete - it's all part of the ride.
