Emily T
Day 22 Breakfast - Egg casserole Lunch - Hot sausage, spinach salad, handful of cashews, baby carrots Dinner - Big garden salad (lots of fresh veggies), marinated skirt steak, pepper and tomato salad, and some sort of steamed mixed greens Today was my boyfriend's birthday so we went to a restaurant. It was really difficult finding something compliant so I had to quiz the waiter a little! The waiter did not understand my restrictions, but he let me make substitutions for corn and potato sides. When he brought my steak, it had what looked like white cheese grated on top. I scraped it off as best as I could and the steak was delicious. GFChris
So I misunderstood the potatoes rule, I guess, because I thought purple potatoes would be allowed. Since the guidelines say its arbitrary, I'm kind of wondering whether I should let it bother me. Just curious, where in the guidelines did you read that purple potatoes are arbitrary? Here is a thread about purple potatoes that clarifies what you can and cannot have, complete with photos: http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/9601-are-purple-potatoes-whole30-approved/#entry96342
Emily T
On the website it says the below. Arbitrary or not, they were consumed! Oh well... Do not eat white potatoes. This is somewhat arbitrary, but if we are trying to change your habits and improve the hormonal impact of your food choices, it's best to leave white, red, purple, Yukon gold and fingerling potatoes off your plate. Emily T
Day 24 Breakfast - Egg casserole with blueberries Lunch - Leftover curry - the pork was overcooked, I barely ate any of the meat, so I ended up super hungry in the late afternoon. Lesson learned - keep healthy snacks at work I guess Snack - Larabar - this was more of a pre-dinner snack, because I was at a doctor's appointment from 3-7pm and I was STARVING when I left Dinner - Homemade chicken salad (chicken, mayo, cashews, sesame seeds, grapes, balsamic), wrapped in lettuce, with carrots and a large cucumber

Emily T
Day 26 Breakfast - Egg casserole with half an orange Lunch - Couldn't eat it. I was violently ill from a change in my dose and brand of probiotics. I managed to get down a Larabar in the afternoon. Dinner - Romaine and spinach salad with grilled chicken, cashews, sesame seeds, cucumbers, green onions, orange slices and a balsamic dressing Late evening snack - I was still hungry later and had 2 slices of cooked bacon and some blueberries
Emily T
Day 27 Breakfast - Egg casserole with blueberries and grapes Lunch - Romaine and spinach salad with roast beef, orange bell pepper, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, and a balsamic dressing Dinner - Iced tea, mixed green salad, mixed roasted vegetables (green beans, snap peas, broccoli, mushrooms), grilled hangar steak I was out to dinner with a friend in town - the steak came with Belgian frites! Oh I wanted them so so so bad. I almost just ordered the steak as-is, with the frites, but at the last minute, I subbed them for a salad. I am super proud of myself because I was really rationalizing (only a couple days left, theyre just potatoes, etc). But I did not order them! Woohoo! After my issue on Weds, I am off ALL supplements. ALL of them. I will probably go back onto zinc and fish oil later, but for now I am skipping probiotics, enzymes, and magnesium. They were confusing me because I didn't know what was causing what, I could not tell if they were helping. My body knows best. Off the supplements, I am not getting super gassy or upset stomach like before. I'm still constipated and bloated though. Tomorrow starts FODMAP-free for a week. Fingers crossed.... Emily T
Day 29 Today I went to a pick your own farm and picked zucchini, tomatoes, jalapenos, berries, peaches, and cucumbers! It was a lot of fun and super cheap. I dug some red potatoes for my post-30, too. Breakfast - Egg casserole Lunch - we were hiking after the farm so I brought a bunch of beef jerky - grass fed from a farmers market of course! I also ate carrots, tomatoes, and a peach Dinner - BLT salad - bacon, lettuce, fresh picked tomatoes, avocado, and a dressing of homemade mayo mixed with bacon drippings
Emily T
DAY 30!!!! Wooohoooo! Breakfast - Eggs scrambled with chopped avocado and tomato, kimchi, spinach Lunch - Egg salad (hard boiled eggs, mayo, mustard), romaine with balsamic, baby carrots, pickles I think I had a BAD reaction to the eggs. Like really bad. I dont know what is wrong with me! But I was really sick yesterday. Perhaps as a result of that, I was snacking all afternoon. Snacks: Peach, cashews, small piece of pork sausage, bone broth Dinner: Baked salmon, heirloom tomato salad, spinach salad Before bed: More bone broth For whatever reason I am extremely fatigued today. I feel it in every bone and muscle. I don't know what to think or do. If my digestive distress does not stop soon I am going to just sip on broth and avoid food because I am definitely sick of being so sick...
