GA's_Mum
So I've finally got my stuff together and won't be traveling for the next 30 days. This will be the best time for me to do this the least amount of temptation. I had started back in June and made it to day 10, but ended up going out of town and not preparing. Definitely learned my lesson! I'm doing this because I want to clean up my eating and my family's. I'm tired of sweets addiction and the mood swings a craving will do to me! I felt great my first try and I loved the energy I had. So here's to it!! Day 0.
snowflower
Hello July 22nd starters. Happy Monday! This is my first time and I'm solo at home, so I'm here looking for support. I read the book, subscribed to the daily newsletter and am up and running today. My goals are to improve my blood pressure, lower my cholesterol and stabilize my moods primarily. If I lose a few pounds, that'd be a bonus.

LoriPG
HELLO!! Just starting my first Whole30 as of today. Nervous...my daughter is starting it as well in her own home. My younger kids are on board. 11 and 13. Ok...so I get to feeling overwhelmed. I have never, since breast feeding, been in charge of all the meals! No packaged foods, no more frozen amy's gluten free anymore. The whole wad!! Today I make paleo catsup. It sounds very good. I've never made mayonnaise and it sounds daunting, but I want to make the kids the paleo ranch dressing out of the Fragoso book and I need it in the recipe! I'm also not used to eating during the day...I did protein shakes. That was going so well I have gained 8 pounds . My kids are elated that no alcohol is allowed. I relied on it far too often for stress management in the evening. Truly so am I. I need to heal my body and leaky gut issues. I want to try the salmon patties from the book and first support email!! We as a family cleaned out the fridges, freezer and all the cabinets! Holy moly we have so much room now!!!
lolo1969
Hi there! I'm making my second attempt starting today. I tried a few months ago and lasted 10 days. I'm determined to make it this time. I'm writing down all the reasons why I'm doing a Whole 30 and writing down reminders of how crappy I've been feeling leading up to this day. Alcohol is my biggest weakness and I know that come Thursday I'm going to have a big battle on my hands. I'll be turning to this forum for support for sure. Good luck everyone! Taking them out completely is the only way. -No more cysts (I have PCOS) -More energy -Less depression and anxiety. -To be my best self -To have better self esteem -clear skin -balanced hormones -to relieve my body from autoimmune disorders so it will stop attacking my thyroid.(I have Hashimoto's). -Better sleep -To be in control -To feel like Ive accomplished something
Jimmy
Hi Newbies, I'm starting today. Not so nervous - just determined that I am going to make it through the entire 30. Honestly, to be in good shape I need to shed 45 lbs. My chiropractor tested me for food allergies (at my request) and bingo - grains are causing me a problem - so I stopped eating them 3 weeks ago and started to lose weight. But I didn't cut out sugar or dairy or rice or alcohol - etc. I decided to do the Whole 30 after it was suggested to me as a possibility by my qigong teacher, and my acupuncturist has good things to say about it too. My usual breakfast since cutting out grains has been 2 strips of Maverick bacon (no more bacon), 2 eggs fried in Irish butter (need to check to see if Irish butter is ok otherwise I'll kiss have to kiss it goodbye), and tomatoes and spinach (sometimes cooked, sometimes raw). When I went shopping yesterday I forgot to buy eggs, so this morning I made my first skillet breakfast. I sauted garlic and onion in coconut oil, added half a pound of hamburger, one very large local red tomato, and some seasoning... let it cook down some and then served it over a small bed of organic spinach. My spouse said "This is delicious! I could eat this every day at every meal." Who knew? :-) I took a photo of it, but it doesn't look as good as it tasted. I think that it would have also been good (and comforting) to have placed one fried egg on top of it. Any way - here we go. Best wishes to us all! :-)
amberly
Hi. I'd like to join this thread too. I just signed up for the thirty days of emails, so I start tomorrow. I used to want to eat this way to lose weight, but now I don't even care ... I just want to feel clear and have enough energy to keep up with my kids (4 ages 7, 5, 3, and 1) I want to kick my sugar addiction so that I can stop the mood swings. I've almost convinced my husband to do it with me ... keeping my fingers crossed. Once we do it, we can get the kids on board too. I've tried many times to kick the sugar habit, but always fall back into it after 1 or 2 or 3 days, so any tips would be greatly appreciated! Jenny C.
Starting tomorrow -- the 23rd. Yes, I am a little nervous. But mostly I'm hopeful. I desperately want to feel better than I do now, or than I have for years. I'm hoping that these symptoms go away: The brain fog I feel after I eat just about anything. Fatigue -- especially when I run. (I'm a 5x marathon runner. I was a good, strong runner several years ago. And I loved it. But my doctor says that adrenal fatigue is really messing me up right now. Severe pms. It's all been really debilitating. I'm so hopeful that I can do this and that it helps.

JuliaG9
Hello... Just starting today, too. Day 1 (23rd) almost over in Australia. The hardest thing for me will be cutting out sugar. Have tried stevia but never lost sugar cravings so going cold turkey this time! Good luck, all.

austxrunner
I'm in Day 1, and one of my biggest issues was remembering to eat breakfast! In my very busy household, I think the actual meal planning is going to be the toughest obstacle to my success. But, I am going into Day 1 with high expectations of myself. I just need to remember to commit the time so I can plan appropriately!
