paleoamy
Starting a Whole30 tomorrow since i've had way too many paleo slip ups latley, We buy our meat every 2 weeks and marinade and freeze it. My husband has put honey in it... about 1tbsp per bag whic is about 4-5 portions. Because its such a small amount and most of it will cook off/stay in the bag is this going to wreck my Whole 30? It will only be for the first 6 days and then we will do another shop and he wont put honey in it. Buying new meat this week is not in the budget. Guest
Honey is not allowed, even in trace amounts. I say that you could do 6 pre-W30 days with the marinated meat and begin your full Whole30 after your next shopping trip. (I totally get having money invested in non-compliant foods. I cooked up a bunch of lamb and beef today that are not going to fit the more strict plan I will be following. My husband will be able to eat it, though.) Hmmm...do you have anything like tuna or other compliant meats that could buy you an extra day or two?
paleoamy
Thank you!I have some tuna yes but I think I will do what you said and use the meat for the first 6 days and then I will start my actual whole30 when I buy the new meat.
amberino21
I agree with Nico - I'd do a "warm up" week with the food you have then make sure you start afresh with all compliant foods
